I understand your stance, but don't you think Nader could make an impact as a Senator or Representative...he could introduce legislation and raise awareness from the inside...
Based on your response, it seems Nader is simply seeking attention for he sake of seeking attention...if he truly wanted change, Congress would be a good venue....
For the sake of bring important issues into the national debate that are otherwise being flat out ignored by the major parties...that is my answer.
And to hear you guys talk, Congress has no power to stop the war...everything is vetoed so how would a guy like Nader be able to do what half of congress can't? He is smart to do it the way he has. He has built up over 100 grassroot organizations filled with supporters on various issues. He knows a thing or two about civics and getting people rallied behind a common cause. He is great at what he does.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

well then, if he's so good at organizing and rallying folks, then he should have no problem getting laws passed in congress...If it get vetoed, then he should be able to work to override that veto...
in all honesty, if Nader was so good at motivating folks, he would be doing much better than he is...while he appears to say all the "right" things, many don't chose to support him...why is that...? sure we can blame the media, of which I do agree the media is blame, or we can blame the system...
but Nader announced his running on Meet the Press, a very popular media show...and it was a dud...who's to blame for that...

All the press he has gotten calling him a spoiler and blaming him for Gore's loss in 2000(when every candidate that ran 3rd party got more than the difference between Bush and Gore). The media has a strong hold on public opinion on these races. It's where most people get all the info they know about the candidates, period. It was mentioned in Unreasonable Man that Nader couldn't get close to the amount of attention the other guys get in the presidential debates alone not to mention their expensive commercials and all the press they get daily...you know that is the problem here. You got the money...you get the airtime. And how are the Dems getting all that money? Some of it comes from places Nader will never be seeing a dime from.

question: why doesn't Nader run for a seat in the senate or the house...? He could propose change via that venue and perhaps get some things done...
b/c he's said he wouldn't have ran if:
a real progressive was in the running or if the democrats met w/ him to discuss some issues...2 corporate candidates who don't really echo what a good portion of society wants and feels. why wouldn't the dems even meet w/ him? after all he's done? may be pointless now from bush dismantling but b/c of him we have the epa, osha....go this wikipedia site or watch an unreasonable man, you can even watch it online if you have netflix...but ppl like kucinich, nader, gravel...don't getthe air time and coverage like the corporate ones, unless it's negative, they get marginalized, a lot less time, questions set to make them look foolish, crazy, unstable....and i would watch some debates and see ppl like clinton just put on this phoney mantra, obama a lot of times not even answering the question given but going off on some sermon....did you see that 'i slung my bookbag across my room....' how some of you can't be disgusted w/ these crooks is beyond me. you don't get change by waiting for someone else, that's just a trend or bandwagon
if ppl can't see thru the propaganda by now i don't know what more to say
standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with
someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

the majority of the ppl want a single-payer health care system, yet none of the candidates really deliver on that. the majority of ppl want out of iraq, none of the candidates reflect that, maybe less troops in iraq to send to afghanistan or elsewhere, as are their plans.... the majority of ppl want alternative energy, do the 3 corporate, media certified 'electable' candidates really push this??
why shouldn't he run!? what's wrong w/ giving the ppl an actual choice? it seems like some feel the democrats shouldn't even have opposition
ppl always bitch about the government being corrupt....yet they keep voting for them b/c they aren't as corrupt...that won't ever bring about change, my friend.
