just to let ya know... they havent cut funding off to troops..however...last year halliburton gave up the contract....

the reason given

to set up a free market...so that companies could compete who gets to supply

so now instead of having full funded/ best equipment.. they are getting wal mart helmets and big lots guns. and mcdonalds for lunch

not to mention the billions of dollars that have been transfered ( our tax money ) to that big defense company richard myer has a hand in over on the west coast...around Las Angeles..you know...to supply the iraqi army with equipment.

as far as someone said about the national debt as much as we have done over the hundreds of years in this world i dont think we owe anyone anything, so as far as im concerned there is no debt...NEXT QUESTION....

lowest unemployment rate and 13000 stock market, no terrorist attacks on US soil...now that is some numbers to chew on, cant argue that

when Bush is out of office and IF the Dems take over we are going to get nailed by a terrorist attack, i would put my life savings on that

Spending has run amok under W's reign. And if by national security plan you're referring to the Patriot Act, our liberties have come under fire in an unprecedented way. Bush has also had no immigration plan, flipping and flopping. And can you highlight any Iraq plan with a specific exit strategy from this administration?

All of the items you fear about the Democrats have come to fruition under a Republican administration and a Republican congress. They were unable to address any of your concerns. Now, I don't believe the Democrats can either, but to hold Republicans as our saviors is to ignore current reality.

yes, but you cannot deny that bush has made it grow. say what you will, clinton balanced a budget. bush has been deficit spending for years. neither party is doing a great job as far as spending and big government go. personally, id rather see american troops on american soil securing our borders and protecting our citizens from terrorism. not dying over in iraq for no apparent reason. i don't care for the dems and their policies aren't exactly brilliant, but the republicans fare no better.

Let's put this on a more personal level. Say you have a loan and suddenly decide that you don't want to pay it back. Do you really think the bank will care what else you've done in your life? Do you really think they'd say something like "Oh, well. He defaulted on his loan; but he did help a kitten out of a tree once. We should just let it go"?

I have the NEXT QUESTION right here. How much do you think the dollar would be worth if we openly refused to pay back what we owe?

Well in WW I we really didn't do much. We helped but it was Britian and France who won that war. As for WW II we where instrumental in defeating the Nazis and the Japanese but by no means did we do it alone. In the European theatre the Rusians played a tremendous role in defeating the Nazis. If not for them we would not have been so successful in our arena. The British deserve much of the credit for defeating the Nazis in North Africa. Of course we help significantly but our troops where not as well trained as the British or the German Africa Corp so without the Brits we would have gotten our asses handed to us there. It was really in the Pacific theatre where we carried the brunt, but an arguement can be made that had the Russians not aided in the European Theatre we would have had to realocate a lot of our resources to Europe and not had the necessary forces needed to defeat the Japanese. I'm not trying to down play the US's role in WW II but I think it is a huge misconception to believe that we saved the world single handedly.

Being a huge history buff I find it absolutely obsurd that people still believe that we single handedly saved the world during WW II. There is a chain of events that compounded on top of each other that made the victory possible. We definetly played a pivital role but people really need to get their head out of the sand and realize that we where not the lone savior, the Knight in shining armor that came along and saved the world from Hitler.

Dont remember either World Wars you've got me there, i have read a bit though, outside of America, and without ever once singing the US anthem, so probably my history lessons were a little different to yours.
My knowledge of what won the 2nd World War stretches to The Eastern Front and The Battle of Britain as the 2 main points, then Africa, bad decision making in Dunkirk, French resistance, Polish prisoners of war. All of which apart from the French Resistance and Polish Heroes, happened while the US was still sitting back raking in the money from Sale of Arms to its "friends".
History in the rest of the World teaches that the US sped up the end of an already defeated Nazi army, nothing more nothing less.

I'll give you a clue, the Eastern Front is nowhere near California, and the clue about the Battle of Britain is in the title.

Probably the World has it all wrong and it was actually a Wrestling match between Eisenhower and Hitler at Madison Square Garden that sorted it, and started WWF at the same time.

As for facing you in mortal combat , fuck no, we have a saying here, it goes "No sense, no feeling", i have a feeling this is relevant.

yep thats right, we have done nothing for this world and have contributed nothing, WW2 lets hand it to Russia they single handedly saved the world and in return we got Communism, kudos!!....we go around the world and start wars and create famine...we are to blame for the way the world is....i dont know why anyone would try and come into this country and reap the benefits of our economy or why we try and stop terrorism, its pointless, right? i mean there are so many others countries out there fighting the good fight right now isnt there??...thanks everyone for shedding light on how terrible this country is...

No one is saying that the US hasn't done any good for the world or that we where not instrumental in winning WW II. We merely correct the falsehood, that you presented, that the US was the sole reason why Nazi Germany and Japan where defeated. That is simply incorrect and if by being told the truth your only response is to act like a spoiled child then there is no hope for you. Any historian will tell you exactly what you have been told here and it has nothing to do with anti-American sentiment. It is fact.
