I came home from the Seattle shows with Covid. I'm sure camping out in the cold and rain did not help. I tested and got Paxlovid right away. 10 days later I tested negative and felt fine. But 6 days after that I was positive again, and I'm back in bed now.
*I didn't realize Covid rebound is common.*
I'm sure I'll be fine soon (fully vaxxed, generally healthy). I was a bit surprised that dealing with Covid for an extended time is still a "thing", but apparently it is.
So just be aware, its not totally behind us, and still knocks you down temporarily. And yes, be mindful of not exposing others, especially the more vulnerable.
Be well, Stone! Stay well, all! Best of luck on your upcoming surgery and treatment, curmudgeoness!
“Fully vaxxed” and in bed 16 days later….
FML - the kool aid is still being drunk…
There’s a separate thread for this bullshit, take it over there.

All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

Yeah and if Ed is recovering from something they should do Mankind and Don't Gimme No Lip. Was at Milan in 2018 and got Mankind but always wondered why they didn't do the other.

imagine wanting to use science to your own benefit.
How would you change a sick persons treatment based upon the result of a Covid test ? Genuine question.
1) There are therapeutics available like Paxlovid or monoclonal antibodies that can shorten the length of the illness and decrease the likelihood of a severe case of the illness. You need a COVID diagnosis to obtain those therapeutics.
2) Common courtesy and decency requires that, if you have a dangerous, contagious respiratory disease-- and COVID is still killing twice as many Americans as the flu (44,000 versus 24,000 since October)-- you would avoid exposing other people to it. Knowing that you, in fact, have COVID, makes it easier for one to isolate, and also to give a heads-up to those who were exposed to you before you tested positive.
I sat next to someone for three hours last week who, two days later, informed me that he had started feeling ill the next day and tested positive for COVID. I appreciated the heads-up and, although I did not have any symptoms, I wore a mask when I was around other people for the next few days until I was reasonably assured that I was not infected. Again, this is common courtesy and also good public-health practice to limit the spread of a disease that is not likely to be dangerous to me, as a healthy, fully vaccinated person under 50, but that could be very dangerous to other people whom I encounter who are vulnerable.
Yes!
I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see proper covid info
being shared, treating it as the serious vascular, neurological,
respiratory, multi-organ, immune-system-damaging airborne virus
that it is! Covid cautious Pearl Jam fan
community you are my people.
You
all want to see our favorite band continue to thrive and tour and make
music? Mask up! Normalize masking and air cleaning mitigations in all
places, schools, work, stores, home gatherings, venues etc. Covid has not gone away, and won't until people get serious and take action to prevent spread. Fabric masks don't stop the virus, upgrade your mask to a N95 or better, ya never know- you may need it for future days. Do it for your loved ones and the bands you love.
