im not sure...but making death threats on a bands message board...probably isnt the best demonstration of ''maturity''
and besides its always much more dramatic when someone is shot alive... not dead.
 just a thought..

I certainly don't want to make 'light' of this but I do appreciate you guys giving me your attention on this matter. I've found a bit of clarity. Thank You.

that's just what this world needs. more hotheads driving around with handguns strapped to their dashboards talking about how other drivers shouldn't fuck with them.
the handgun STOPS the road rage. an armed society is a polite society. everyone in my town is armed thus there's no crime. where you have crime is where the criminals are armed and know their victims are not. criminals prefer unarmed victims and that's why organized crime donates so much to organizations that are anti gun. look at towns like morton grove IL or glenco IL. when they banned guns their crime rate soared. prior to the gun control act of 1968; you could carry your handgun on commercial airlines. when that stopped; we had hijackings.

death threats? i have no need to threaten you. all i said was that i hope, for the rest of us, that darwinism goes to work on you real soon.
tool sucks, btw. and unless you're in the band, you're a dork for signing your post with that.0

what about that priest who killed someone with a crossbow becos he was wrapped up in road rage? you really think if everyone was packing heat, a bunch of idiot hotheads wouldn't end up shooting each other up? normally, i'd be for that (see my darwinism point above), but i've no desire to be gunned down by a redneck like you becos you feel entitled to shoot anyone who makes a driving move you don't like.0

i really don't know. what is it that turns normal, everyday decent people into total freaks on the roads, because someone does what we all do at some point or time. makes a mistake.soulsinging wrote:what about that priest who killed someone with a crossbow becos he was wrapped up in road rage?0

First off Kudos to you for posting and soliciting feedback on this. I think that was kind of brave of you and very positive.
Amplification is a powerful thing. That's probably why we're all on this message board. It's one thing for Stone to have a twitchy sense of rhythm or for Jeff to bounce his head in a groove... but connect them to a stack of ampifiers ... and they can move an entire arena.
And it's one thing for Ed to work pumping gas and to have a notebook full of poems, and it's another thing for him to have a microphone attached to a PA system in Madison Square Garden.
With a little amplification it's possible to change the world, and change lives.
Music is great because all that amplification is sort of metaphysical. Apart from a bit of vibrating air, all that's being moved are minds and eardrums.
Cars on the other hand are much more physical, and there is no amplifier quite as powerful as the accelerator.
A bad song and a bad mood in a car can cause way more trouble than a disapointing setlist.
Look I wasn't there, so I really don't know how bad the situation was... but I don't think you'd be posting here if it wasn't really bad.
The reaon I'm replying even though I wasn't there is because I've hd friends with road rage and it's no joke. I knew one girl who was constantly banging up her car, and who once actually clipped a pedestrian. She had / has no idea what a bad driver she was / is. (Not sure, since I'm never getting in a car with her again.)
So that's my background, and maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but I'm guessing this isn't the first time you've done something like this, and I'm guessing your posting here not because of this one event, but because you feel as though "it's finally time" to "See" what other people think or do.
Anyway, as I wrote before, I think that's a really good and positive step. Sometimes it's amazing for feelings and emotions, even dark ones to get amplified. That's a large part of what makes Pearl Jam so amazing.
But a car can amplify those feelings too if you aren't incredibly careful... and the results can be ... that you won't get to hear Pearl Jam's next album... or that you'll have to live with taking that chance away from someone else.
Sorry if that's heavy handed, but I guess the part of your post that disturbed me the most was when you wrote about making eye contact with the driver to let him know you didn't mean any harm... when the whole point of what you've written is you know full well you did.
To go through that many shifts in emotion, motivation, manipulation and intent all while you've got the meerest twitch of your foot controlling at least a ton of car and at least a hundred horses of engine power sounds very *VERY* dangerous, to you, to me, to everyone on the road.
I think it's awesome you were brave enough to post here. I think you should follow that best impulse and see where it leads you.0

dude; about 80,000 people legally carry concealed weapons in arizona. in my town; everyone carries because it's a tourist town and you never know what kind of trash will roll into town. my town doesn't have any crime.
if you see a shiney .44 mag on my dash; you probably won't be stupid enough to f%*k with me. but be assured; if i shoot you; it will be because i believed you were about to cause me or someone else bodily harm. i'm highly educated and one field is law. i know when the supreme court allows me to use deadly force and when i cannot.0

ols, I'm not familiar with guns laws anywhere, but don't you have to keep concealed weapon concealed? I didn't think one could sport a hand gun in plain sight. Are there different laws concerning guns in a vehicle? Growing up in the south, I do remember pick-ups sporting gun racks and hunting rifles, but I thought hand guns were a different story. The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance,
 but the illusion of knowledge.

How pathetic!! Honestly, this sounds like the ranting of a nerd, who always got fucked with and now is all "grown up" and has a "shiney" toy. You know what, sometimes their just swollen and not really that "big" you might want to seek medical attention as the ego can play tricks on the mind.
Every town has crime, maybe its just not committed with handguns. Judging from your rant, I don't see how a -mine is bigger than yours; well mine is better than yours- hasn't resulted in at least a couple of town shootings.
Guns are not the answer to road rage in any State.SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0

i never got fucked with. i've had 1 fight in 6th grade and haven't had a fight since. i'm 51 and got my first gun at age 12. just like every other kid. the only crime reported last year was a dog barking at night. you need to open your shirt and look out at the real world. we have the strictest DUI laws; the strictest immigration laws; and we concentrate on what's really necessary. not disarming law abiding citizens. that's the stupidest thing i ever heard. let's punish the innocent so they can become victims of crimes.
those who migrate here either know or get told that 80,000 people legally carry conceald weapons. it's up to the criminals to guess which ones don't. criminals prefer unarmed victims. when you ask for my wallet; will i pull out a gun instead? try me. make my bloody day.0

I think you should probably erase that post, or you could get the feds coming after you for a road rage incident...
hehe, kidding... was that in Nebraska? Every time I drive home from CO to WI, I have to drive through Nebraska, where the drivers are FUCKING INSANE! They go under the speed limit in the left lane(passing lane) and then if you go around them in the right lane, since there aren't any cars for miles, they flick you off, follow you, etc... I got followed by a guy for passing him in the right lane because he was going at least 10mph under the speed limit, he then followed me for miles, swerving, honking, flashing his lights, weaving around any cars we came to to stay right on my ass. I finally pulled over because I saw he had a little girl in the back seat, he kept moving...
I felt sick and reported his car to the police, how could someone do that with a child in the car?

if you don't have a conceald permit; it's perfectly legal to carry openly. in fact; most of the women i know that carry; carry openly so they're not messed with to begin with. it's nothing to walk around walmart and see sidearms on people. there's different laws in different states. 23 states now allow conceald weapons with permits. they're the states with the lowest crime rates.0
