I'd put $20 on at least 40% of the United States' population under 20 couldn't point to Iraq on a map.

true, there are always going to be some in any age group that couldn't do that, but I said under 20 because of how Americanized society has become and how socially unaware most kids are now

Iraq... Iraq... it's somewhere in the Middle East... therefore, it must be near Iowa... which is in the Mid-West...

Now... where the hell is Iowa?

i bet those kids parents would score about the same...

we always like asking the younger foolks these questions, i bet we would find the same results if adults were asked

50 million adults voted for Bush in 2004, so thats good enough evidence for me

Oh easily, but not just under 20... voting age all the way up to death...

I'm sure that as a fine upstanding, patriotic citizen of the US she doesn't have any need to be able to fine "the Iraq" on a map. it's enough for her (and any good American) to know that "The Iraq" is where all those brown-skinned, evil terrorist live....you know, those vile bastards that are jealous of her and her superior intelligence and that of all wholesome, white, god-fearing Christians

im guessing 60-70% of all age groups couldn't pull that feat off. let alone iran, afghanistan, saudi arabia, israel, or any of these other countries they're so gung ho about invading or supporting.
  • Just remember... Central America is Kansas...lol

I'm guessing most of these people can't even find Rhode Island on the map; never mind Iraq.

I feel a bit sorry for her now. Sure - she's probably not the brightest person in the world, but she was put on the spot and got mixed up. I think the TV is making too much of this.

  • She's damn good looking... too bad she flubbed her lines. I'd still go out with her, or like having her around in the office...no problemo...

    It should be.

And any man who's older than about 22 or 23 (done w/ college), and has to resort to trolling for high school girls, must be socially retarded.

It depends on where you are in the state. Just like any other place, if you live in an affluent area, you are more likely to have a better school system. There are some school districts in the state that are excellent, but there are also some very bad school districts. The school districts in the more rural parts of the state are more likely to have lower standardized test scores, a lower emphasis on public education, and need more funding (that they probably won't receive).
thanks for a detailed response. just like you said, it's like any other place.

Yeah, last night right before bed, I turned on the late night talk shows. Leno and Letterman showed this. Letterman replayed it twice, because Paul was so tickled by it. I felt so bad for her. Looking at her 'record' she is a very accomplished young lady. I realize that the pageant gals have 'prepared' responses. The question was ridiculous and this poor girl was caught off guard.
