I can't find the number of Iraqi military killed, but I'm slacking my work duties here, so I'll have to look more later.

That 50,000 insurgents were in only the 7 monthy prior to June 2005! and it seems killed or arrested...

I am interested in the 40,000 civilians.. I bet that was since the ground invasion - or later - perhaps since we declaired victory and got Saddam - or perhaps even later than that..

God knows how many were killed during the bombing campaign

lol. What makes you so enlightened? Have you been there?

I never claimed to have been there or made any assumptions as to what the US military is doing while there like the guy I was quoted did.

is that enlightening enough for you?

Ever watched a documentary on it? With real footage on the ground? Interviews with Iraqi "insurgents" etc.?

by maintaining power you mean killing them and dumping them in a mass grave if they refused to hang a picture of himself on their wall at all times?

I think the major difference here is that the decapitated bodies are dumped on the streets and alleys in smaller numbers, instead of tossed into mass graves.
    ...
You gotta remember... Saddam and his 2 sons didn't kill all of those people themselves.

perhaps.. though I think they have prospered very well in Iraq.

When your friends or family disapoint you - did you just leave them?

This is my country - and I will stay - and try to be a good citizen, and contribute where I can - focusing primarily on the education of my children right now.

I wouldn't consider walking out on my country when clearly there has never been a time when they need good people more.
