Look for an high integrity candidate that talks seriously about empowering the people, and returning back to core values.

do you think he will recognize compassionate caregiving?
do you think he will alleviate the immigration application process?
    what about gun control?

will he bring our children home? or will he let the black water regade take over as privatized security?

I honestly have joined this thread to open my mind..so if you can sell me as to why you think mr. paul is good, i would appreciate... your time..thank you.

    peace begins within.

Compassionate Caregiving - Dr. Ron Paul spent his life in medicing GIVING AWAY treatment to those that couldnt afford it. He believes the best way to moderate "welfare" with functioning free markets is through the use of charity, not federal programs which are tyrannical to the tax payer, and serve to further a class divide resentment. Put more money in the people's pockets, and maybe they would choose to spend more on charity voluntarily.

Immigration Reform - Well, you would certainly get immigration reform. I honestly haven't heard him speak of the application process itself, but if it is a beaurecratic mess, then my guess is he would (in time) try to stream line the sucker. Ron Paul IS about following the law, and if getting LEGAL immigrants in to this country is a screwed up process, his thought would be "we have to fix the process to reward those who are following the law, not those who are violating it!"

Gun control - unless you mean "reduce and dismantle" it, your not gonna get that. He certainly doesn't believe in federal control, and i'm pretty sure he doesn't even leave it to states rights, since it is explicitly listed #2 in the BORights.

Troops - 100% man. They'd be home in a few months after he took office. From EVERYWHERE. Not just iraq.

Blackwater -- hell no! Mercinaries are actualy outlawed by the constitution. I can't believe we actualy have them.
Part of the reason they are banned by the constitution is to keep taxpayers from being oppressed by a government which, unable to raise enough troops (because the people don't view the cause as acceptable), simply goes out and buys them to start a war. That, and representing a country with hired guns can (and does) turn out ugly.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • I'm basically a republican, and I agree with you. I don't know who the hell to vote for.

I disagree that this country would re-re-elect GWB. A Democrat -- any Democrat -- would beat him in a landslide this time around.

ps -- you Ron Paul folks are kidding yourselves. No way in hell he gets the nomination. No way in hell.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

i really don't think so, chief. wer'e taliking an approval rating in the upper 20's to low 30's and even the republican candidates you speak of are trying to distance themselves from this fuck-up. Its just one flub after another.

Thats because he can't be reelected.. Thats because its now politically beneficial to turn your back on him.... The republican machine can rally behind him and America would follow...
