  • love how McCain tried to use Obama having a fundraiser in Hollywood with celebrities tonight in his rounds today, even though McCain did the same a month or two ago, celebrities included, at a Beverly Hills hotel.

McCain is a clown, so is Obama. I just don't like any of them. I think it's a joke the way they have supporters who will excuse anything they do or say.

Obama can talk about attacking Iran, and his supporters, these same people who were against Bush for talking tough will back Obama saying the same things. Then they run around screaming "change! change!" Like a drunk homeless person.

Obama has one house and it not worth even close to a million dollars.

Who cares? It doesnt effect there ability to lead so the whole right trying to paint him as an elitist is bullshit, and hypocritical.

... funny McCain called attention to this ... do you really think there aren't a line of heavy hittiers in the Oil biz not doing the EXACT same thing?

Just because Johnny Ohio and Sally Pennsylvania know who Barbara Streisand is and have no effing clue who the oil baroons are doesn't make McCain holier than thou ....

McCain has turned into such a lying doooosh ... he really is selling his soul for this presidency.

A lot of that wealth comes from his wife's family business. They are the 3rd biggest distributors of Anheiser Bush. ALso I would like to compare Obama to McCains wealth when he was Obamas age.

remember, McCain even said during the service debate on 9/11 that's he's divorced from the day to day issues with everyday Americans.

Exactly it doesn't really matter, but I need to just quickly point out that a few news reports on Obama talked about himself building a home worth around a million dollars. But if it's true or not, again, that does not matter.

He was married to his rich wife when he was 47. So he had millions and millions. Unless his wife told him he had to spend his own money, or put him on a tight allowance. ;)

McCain was at a fundraiser where he raised $5million in Miami just the night before Obama's. I guess his celebrity friends pockets aren't quite as deep. He been such a hypocrite throughout this campaign.

i thought obama bought his house for over a million?

but it is kinda funny what the republicans said about kerry marrying into money and owning so many houses...

i think the "issue" is that it was a fundraiser with streisand, leo dicaprio, will ferrell, chris rock, etc in the crowd. whatever with me, it helped obama raise $11 million bucks.

weird that mccain's fundraisers don't get press like this. i guess corporate lobbyists aren't all that newsworthy.

funny you say that ... that you know "questionable experience" as a community organizer the republicans claimed for Obama ... yeah, I'd say Obama does have a good idea on what the common folk go through ..

Republicnas can't have it both ways ...

They can't say Obama doesn't have enough experience because he's only been in the Senate for 4 years, but on the other hand, say, he's a Washington insider and is out of touch with every day Americans ....

yoru right things have not changed in the how many years has Obama not been a commuinity organizer :) i didn't slam Obama for being a community organizer as i am a social worker and i think that it is important work. i am not calling Obama a washington insider but i am saying that obama in his day to day job as a senator does not deal directly deal with the people day to day lives just like McCain. Obama and McCain can say that while they cross teh country they hear people issues but that does not mean that they know what teh common people lives are like.

i am not just slamming Obama, i just think that this idea about knowing people is a joke.

I think if you look at their histories ... Obama comes from a place wher ehe does understand "the people" better ...

McCain served our country (honorably) ... came home ... served as a Navy liason in Washington, picked the place in Arizona where he was going to live based on where he could win a seat ... then into the House then Senate ... his political life was being "raised" by Washington.

Obama (who was raised by a single mom) ... worked his ass off for everything he got ... well documented choice between making tons of money after Harvard Law or going back to the streets ... worked in Chicago as the community organizer, then in the state legislature, then Washington ..

I just feel where he comes from and what his experieces are, Obama does have a better grip on what Americans go through.

It's funny watching McCain call for the heads of these Washington insiders when he's been there for over a quarter of a century.

you raise some great points that i agree with but and please forgive me but i am going to talk abotu my life growing up and the people that i deal with now as a social worker.

i grew up with both parents, my mom works at a university in toronto canada and my dad worked in a factory. my parents were not rich but we were not poor either. my parents are conservative and raised me conservative. i am a social worker and i work with people who are living with HIV/AIDS who are homeless. if you look at my background it seems that i whould not hav e aclue abotu what my clienst deal with an dit is true i don't but i do have epathy. do you see the point i am trying to make, it does not matter how you grew up (rich or poor) it does not mean that you don't empathize with people. growing up poor does not mean that you can relate to poor people more, just like being rich does not mean that you can't relate to poor people. i know people who used to be poor and now look at teh poor as a disgrace. just like i know people who grew up rich who really care abotu teh poor.

I get what you're saying, but, please don't take my words in a vacuum ... if you listen to what these two say, if you see them speak, if you hear their plans ... well, that's where it crystalizes for me.

I mean, can we all have the same upbringing? Is someone in rural South Dakota the same as somone on the South Side of Chicago .... absolutely not.

It's just my belief that Obama has the capacity, the aptitude to understand a lot more of what is going on ... and be able to comprehend it, and make sound jugement on it ... far more than McCain can.

I'll say it ... political beliefs aside ... I think Barack Obama is just flat out SMARTER than John McCain.
