The problem is only, that the US is ruling the world by force,
and, hence, it is difficult to do anything about it when you like life.
dunno a solution cause looking at myself, I realize that I like my life the way it is and I wanna keep it that way.
If I see already those egoistic symptoms within myself (although I do not have a rich life),
what about the big heads, the really rich folks with real power that run the whole system since a while (the CIOs of corporations, the Hip Hoppers with blinking diamonds, the Hiltons and Bushs of our society)?
Too many Humans love power and influence and will work hard to keep it!!!
so the US want things this way so they will use their extreme force further to guarantee the leadership...
a solution will only come from every single person within the mass. If we change and do choose the things to support carefully
and if we show humanity to our neighbours and ALSO to the third world
and if we vote for other ways and get together in public interest circles,
we can bring any empire down from within.
To implement a change, every one of us (in the rich, privileged world) needs to change and step back in the living standard but care for others instead,
 I think.
if this change is not occuring... no change til the end of times will happen.
 ...my2cents right now.
Exactly, but I don't see these kinds of people stepping back, so the system that allows them to be powerful needs to end.
I mean it's not even just the super rich, it's the avg american, they hold the key to change. But look at the avg american, apathetic right? no not even just that, ignorant is probably more accurate to describe them.
Yes many changes need to happen, will it happen? I don't think so.0

 me actually neither...
and I agree and would like to do this correction:
it is not only the super rich but also the average middle class that holds on to the privileges of rich countries.
And it is not only the US even though they are the strongest and most influencal and indeed the leader,
also here the population is apathetic and numb. We are more interested in Angelina and Bratt as in the many death in Libanon.
Young girls see Paris Hilton as the one to follow, an idol instead of thinking that Nelson Mandela did a great job.
you know what I mean? The values and habits that occupy us over the media and that we have inhaled those days make us feel happy in our apathetic behavour.
...dunno what needs to happen that people wake up and scream.
maybe nothing anymore, maybe the final collapse... we will see.
for the rest I just don't know either any way out of this crazy world... there is no way to peace, peace is the way! there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.0

Yeah really.MrBrian wrote:of course one can't be too thrilled about the president of Iran and Venezuela trying to "save humanity"? Or thinking they'll be able to do it, nevertheless Chaves does make a good point (one that is fairly obvious) about america succeeding in it's ways not being a good thing for mankind/earth.
But we all know that once one empire ends another one comes up so it's cyclical. Can anyone offer any solutions? Reborn, dude, you got any?
Just saying you threw up in your mouth is not gonna help solve or create any debate for a better world.
I'm glad that America is where it's at and that I'm an American, but we've got a lot of fucking work to do if we're going to fill the shoes of being the greatest nation on the planet.Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

That's the most sensible thing I've heard said for a long time. It's a shame that Tony Blair can't drop his unconditional support for those sick pigs in the White House and instead attempt to reign them in.0

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez enveloped his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a bear hug on Sunday and the two men backed their anti-U.S. rhetoric with deals on everything from bicycles to oil.
In a typically verbose speech, robust ex-paratrooper Chavez lambasted their common enemy, Washington.
"If the U.S. empire succeeds in establishing its dominance, there will be no future for humanity. Therefore we should save humanity and end the American empire," Chavez told a crowd at the University of Tehran.

Yeah, how about realizing that America has the best government the world has ever produced. It's in trouble right now, and we got some screwballs in the White House and the halls of Congress.
But let's try to reform our political system a bit - not undermine everything this nation stands for...... You have no idea what the world is like my friend, to hold the views you have.
If you are a Socialist or something, then so be it - I respect your view. But, if you aren't a hippie, socialist, etc.... then you have to see the value America brings to the world.
The grass is always greener huh?0

This is a great post. I feel the same way and ask the same questions.MrBrian wrote:Now that's better.
Why should'nt The US cut israeli aid (mainly weapons) when israel is constantly breaking international laws with it? if I was supplying a guy guns and he was shooting people with it, do you not think I should cut my gun supply to this person? In the same sense look at what israel is doing, how can you feel that America should continue giving Them these bombs and bullets?
I don't know how to get americans to "behave differently", Of course that's what they need to do but look at her history, she's always been the same, it's not like america was ever really this amazing place that helped all nations and did'nt cause trouble.
also, I agree that the US is not only in it for oil but what else do you think they are in it for? please don't tell me world peace.0

So am I a "freedom hater" if I honestly agree with this statement? I mean, global warming alone backs it up, not to mention the many, many people dying each day due to U.S. supported violence.MrBrian wrote:"If the U.S. empire succeeds in establishing its dominance, there will be no future for humanity.0

Being a german how do you find US occupation to be?
I know your media is somewhat controlled by the US and after the Holocaust germans aren't very nationalistic, not raising the flag, etc..
Do you think if the US and Russia had left germany to it's own devices after WW2 that things would be different? Or do you think the US and Soviet occupations are a good thing?

mhmm, interesting questions and statements, as always
well, I guess our media is not anymore controlled by the US or our government.
Germany is very focused on an objective and independent media so any propaganda can't appear anymore... we learned our lessons due to propaganda, so our media tries to inform us on wide range and I am very happy with our press, some of it actually...
...and you are right, we are not used to patriotic behavour. It was funny to see Germans waving a flag during the soccer world cup and of course a big discussion came up if this newly born patriotic behavour is of any danger or doing us good.
 And about the occupation.
Back then it was the best thing ever happened to us that the US and their allies took care of us, helped us to rebuild the country again and support us in creating a working economic system.
But in retrospective I guess it was all of a higher plan.
I mean Germany was for sooo long in the middle of the cold war and when I grew up I learned that a bomb could easily hit us, actually every day,
in case the Soviet vs. US conflict would escalate.
Furthermore, it was tough to be seperated by a wall for so long and it is even a bigger task to find eachother now, east and west.
So, it did us good back then, but I guess now, that Germany was for quite a while a playing ball of the big heads (Soviet and US), a strategic point so to say.
But nevertheless, due to the freedom and the democratic system, we learned a lot and developed as a free country and as a free spirit.
Life is good here and we enjoy our privileges. By now we just go with the US,
not matter of humanity or anything else. We now too want to have this whole system staying alive...
 so to sum up:
I will be always thankful to the US, so will be my dad and my granny.
But that is not a reason anymore to support the aggressive, imperialistic behavour of the US that is shown extremely recently.there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.0
