YOU questioning my reading comprehension abilities??? Now THAT'S funny!
I know what you said. But if you were capable of comprehending what you'd read, you'd know that what I was talking about was the fact that we elected that asshole a second time. That happened in 2004.
I clearly stated I thought he was a good leader after the attacks on 9/11. you decided to equate that to 04 when he was re-elected.
Nope, don't agree. The guy was a bumbling idiot when he went on tv the night of 9/11, I still to this day felt he owed us more. Rudy Guilliani outdid him by a longshot.
bumbling idiot? what did you want him to do? I was hoping he said we have fighter jets on the way, but he didnt. I had to wait a month.
he immediately overthrew the taliban. and went on a worldwide offensive to find those responsible for the attacks.
yes, I am as pissed off as you that bin laden is not captured or killed. but el queda is greatly damaged, many top level people including the mastermind have been killed or captured, and they no longer have a central base of operations.
None of this required going to Iraq. But W listened to Rummy who was trying to do his best McNamara impression. And a pretty successful one at that.
bumbling idiot? what did you want him to do? I was hoping he said we have fighter jets on the way, but he didnt. I had to wait a month.
He was no strong leader after the attacks. He was dumbfounded by it all, and looked like more of a nervous wreck (or bumbling idiot) than a strong leader that night of 9/11. What did I want him to do? To shut the borders, allow no one to leave or enter and consider the country in a state of war until we made a move on the Taliban and binLaden. Instead he let the Saudi's take a personal jet (the only jet) out of the U.S. the next day because they were his friends. HARDLY a strong leader to me! He never shut the borders either! If we were concerned about National Security, shutting the borders would have been the most logical first move!

A. We were never ready for that kind of attack; of course he was nervous.
B. Think how Clinton went after Al-Qaeda...oh yea he didnt do anything.
I clearly stated I thought he was a good leader after the attacks on 9/11. you decided to equate that to 04 when he was re-elected.
I said "When a president has four years of bad policy and the nation re-elects him, what choice do you have but to associate those policies with Americans?" You then pointlessly replied with Bush's 2003 approval rankings, which have nothing to do with Bush's re-election in '04.

looked fine to me. hell I had to hold back tears everytime I saw the burning rubble.
What did I want him to do? To shut the borders, allow no one to leave or enter and consider the country in a state of war until we made a move on the Taliban and binLaden.
he did. air travel in, out, or around the country was shut down for days.
Instead he let the Saudi's take a personal jet (the only jet) out of the U.S. the next day because they were his friends.
HARDLY a strong leader to me!
He never shut the borders either! If we were concerned about National Security, shutting the borders would have been the most logical first move!
yes they were. My friends dad was stuck in Europe for a week.
so thats all you would do huh? shut down the borders? well Bush did and went a step further. in less then a month he was able to organize and carry a war against those who attacked us.

Well come on, a tomato can would have beaten john kerry.
Do you know any cops? Why don't you go ask them how they'd feel if they were investigating a murder and someone smuggled the entire immediate family of their primary suspect out of the country before they could be questioned.

as a president he should have been ready for ANYTHING. i want a STRONG leader. do you think that clinton, or reagan, or bush sr. would have sat there for 8 FUCKING MINUTES after being told that our country was under attack, or do you think that those leaders would have gotten up off their spoiled, pampered asses and BEEN THE PRESIDENT?
i will NEVER excuse dubya for his inaction on the morning of 9/11. this is where the rubber meets the road, folks, where REAL leaders take action and PHONIES do nothing.
O god..Yea he should have gotten up and grabbed his ak-47.
Clinton would have sat there and done nothing..just like the embassy bombings in which he did nothing.
I meant the post I made that you replied to. sorry
Cool.
But my point is going to Afghanistan defeating the Tailban and destroying Al Queda should have been the only thing the US should have done militarily in response to 9-11.

Bill Maher brings up the 7 minute thing all the time on his show. And I love Bill Maher, and am by no means a fan of Bush, but the 7 minute ordeal is just stupid. There are plenty of real issues to go after Bush with, and I have yet to understand how him sitting there for 7 minutes has somehow turned into this huge ordeal. Not a thing would have changed had he gotten up.
Do you know any cops? Why don't you go ask them how they'd feel if they were investigating a murder and someone smuggled the entire immediate family of their primary suspect out of the country before they could be questioned.
spare me. the bin laden family disowned osama years ago. your smarter then this to make such a stupid comment
no, he should have GOTTEN UP. period. you can't say what clinton would or would not have done in this situation because it never happened to him. i'm not talking embassy bombings, i'm talking jetliners crashed into building in the fucking united states, buddy. dubya showed that he is a COWARD on 9/11, who was AFRAID to stand up and be our leader. and i will never forgive him for that.
What would you have wanted him to do?
Ok so he gets up and leaves the school...thats about 7 minutes right there.
Dubya was not afraid to be our leader...he showed great courage and strength after 9/11.
no, he should have GOTTEN UP. period. you can't say what clinton would or would not have done in this situation because it never happened to him.
EXACTLY. then why say you know he would have done something different then Bush? you have no idea.
miller is right. we were attacked by el queda and clinton did nothing to get el queda. the training camps and taliban stayed strong and flourished with him in power.
you can't see the overall point here? that he just sat there while the country was under attack? he should have done SOMETHING, shouldn't he? he's the fucking PRESIDENT, need i remind you? and we have people here arguing about what a strong leader he is...he just fucking SAT THERE!!!! GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GO BE THE PRESIDENT....OUR COUNTRY IS UNDER ATTACK!
What should he have done? It was 7 minutes, not 7 hours. Im sorry, but like I said there are plenty of things to go after Bush for, but unless you are going to sit here and tell me that anything would have changed had he gotten up in those 7 minutes then you are just making a mountain out of a molehill. So, tell me what he should have done specifically in that instance, that would have made you happy?
Go watch any press conference since we've been in Iraq. He's asked about fatalities, he can't keep the smirk off his face. Go watch him being questioned about Katrina ... more smirking. Go watch the debates when he was asked about executing people as governor ... that was beyond smirking, that was a full-on grin.
It's not that he's stronger ... it's that he doesn't give a fuck.
spare me. the bin laden family disowned osama years ago. your smarter then this to make such a stupid comment
They've disowned him publicly. That doesn't really mean much. Do you KNOW for a FACT that none of his brothers have spoken to him in years? Are you going to take their word for it, or do you think that maybe that's something the FBI might have wanted to look into?

I think its great that he executes criminals.
And please provide video evidence of his smirking about dead soliders.

Dubya was not afraid to be our leader...he showed great courage and strength after 9/11.
What did he do? Please name ONE THING that he did that showed "great courage and strength." Was it when he flew around in Air Force One all day long, afraid to put his pansy ass down on the ground with the rest of us? Do you honestly think that's what Reagan would have done?

looked fine to me. hell I had to hold back tears everytime I saw the burning rubble.
He was a scared a bumbling pussy cat. No WAY was he being the strong leader we needed to hear words of encouragement from. You must not remember his speech that night, but I do. I was disgusted, because I, along with everyone else, was upset and pissed off at the same time. We didn't need someone crying with us. We needed someone to step up and be strong. That's where Rudy plowed the path for us, while Bush did nothing!
he did. air travel in, out, or around the country was shut down for days...yes they were. My friends dad was stuck in Europe for a week.
Air travel. That's it. Not including his Arab friends, of course, but never, not once did he lock down our borders from all kinds of travel, albeit air, water, or anything else. My hometown (where there also happens to be a nuclear site) is on the border with Canada, and anyone could have come in and done destruction. NEVER closed.
so thats all you would do huh? shut down the borders? well Bush did and went a step further. in less then a month he was able to organize and carry a war against those who attacked us.
No he didn't, and that's not the only thing thatI would have done...it's the FIRST. That war we wagered against bin Laden???? Are you kidding?!?!
What did he do? Please name ONE THING that he did that showed "great courage and strength." Was it when he flew around in Air Force One all day long, afraid to put his pansy ass down on the ground with the rest of us? Do you honestly think that's what Reagan would have done?
c'mon HM, you know that there are security steps that get taken to prevent the president from being killed, he is kind of important. EVERY president would have been on air force one getting information and trying to make decisions, b/c they have security detail that's responsible for them...
now that i've said my piece...enjoy.
make sure the fortune that you seek...is the fortune that you need

oops. I guess you didnt know. Bush was advised, almost forced not to go back to washington that night by the secret service. he insisted. they went back.
he wasnt in washington when it happened, he had to fly back. would you rather he take the bus??
And please provide video evidence of his smirking about dead soliders.
Do you never watch his press conferences? He's smirked about it at every one I've seen, although I admit that's not very many because I try to avoid watching him.
I can't access videos at work, but I shouldn't have to. Go look it up yourself if you're that interested. You can rent "When The Levees Broke" if you'd like to see him smirking about American citizens drowning in their attics.

again, you really are way off today.
He was flying around for hours ... far, far longer than it takes to get to Washington from Florida. And he's the fucking Commander in Chief of the United States, no one forces him to do anything. Reagan would have been before the American people within the hour.

I think his smirk is just more or less his manerisms and natural expressions. Even if he doesnt give a shit, he isnt going to make that clear to the press and the world. I think you are reading to much into his smirk.

Yea me 2...i was hoping he would tell us we just rolled some abrams tanks into some village.
None of this required going to Iraq. But W listened to Rummy who was trying to do his best McNamara impression. And a pretty successful one at that.
well that didnt take long. no one is talking about Iraq. why bring it up. and what does it have to do with my post?
