i think he'd love to wipe Israel off the map, but he's mostly harmless. Iran knows better than to fuck with Israel.0

JD Sal wrote:A lot of folks have defended Ahmadinejad's comments about 'wiping Isreal off the map' saying it was translated incorrectly. My question is, if this is true, why do you think Ahmadinejad has not publicly commented on this and clarified what the true meaning of his statement was?
My guess is... because he is not running for President?
Here in America.. a guy(gal) says something... and other people in the "news" media pick up on it and make a big deal out of it... so the guy(gal) comes back to explain what they meant... which leads to more in the "news" media to spend hours of broadcast time argueing over it til you get so fucking disgusted with the whole thing you change the channel and watch the 'Law And Order' re-run... again.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! It should be taken into consideration the long imposing history of western meddling that has taken place over there, and how vastly different the cultures are.
This by default does not make them evil and full of bad intentions. Not in the least.
But the media .well...they (Iran) should be a smoldering ruins by now, because they are all evil and want to destroy the world so we have to stop them.
I suppose the mentality is like taking in a bear cub at birth but abusing the hell out of it, and having to kill it before it gets big enough to attack and hurt you.
Maybe stop abusing and taking advantage of people/things lesser than you?
hmm
naaa...
fuck it right?

Totally agree...cincybearcat wrote:I think you give him too much credit...I think he says what he means exactly, and he says what he wants.
Not saying you do this, but what makes me laugh about this board is that people will vilify and make out someone as the craziest, most dangerous person around, then take any quote that comes from him as the gospel.
We break down word for word what our politicians say, and interpret every possible meaning, but as soon as a foreign leader makes a statement, we quote it and pass it around like it's some unquestionable statement. My whole life

I was basically saying the same thing that Mr.Smith was...just that he would like to see Israel wiped off the map...I believe him...I seriously doubt he woudl do it though...even if he couldhippiemom = goodness0 -
Two things about Ahmadinejad that the media has so dutifully (and idiotically) distorted to the point that it is almost a potential nuclear war are:
Holocaust denier: He does not deny it. He states that it is over exaggerated (over referenced if you will) to the point that it is used as a shield to murder Palestinians and violate numerous international laws, and vilify, smear and discredit people that oppose any Zionist ideology.
Israel wiped off the map: Well the current "state" of condition of Israel is doomed to be wiped from the pages of history, not the map ...there's no map..he never said the words map. He meant the "regime occupying Jerusalem" will cease to exist and be wiped from the pages of history.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions

Actually he never said any of that. You are either misquoting him or buying into the widely reported misinterpretations of what he said.
I'm certainly no supporter or fan of Amadenijad or Islamic Extremists. But at least get your facts straight and dislike him for real reasons. Not the reasons Bill O'Rielly and Fox News told you to use, in your dislike.0 -
RolandTD20Kdrummer wrote:I believe what he (Ahmadinejad) is saying is the state or condition of Israel in it's present path will not continue.
It's out of balance....like all things out of balance in history they are bound to tip over at some point.
Correct. Amadenijad's comments have been largely focused and islolated to Zionist and the Zionist leaders in Israel. Not Israel or Jews as a whole.
Oh wait, I forgot the standard 2003 reply:
"Then fucking move to Iran and go be a Muslim you communist":D

To clarify further:
1. He did not "say" this, he quoteD it, from a past Islamic cleric.
2. It was a PASSIVE verb. the phrase was "mustFADE from the pages of history"
As in, the current occupying regime in Israel is oppressive and wrong, and MUST FADE from the pages of history.
Further,
whomever said, if Ahmadinejad didn't mean what he said, why didn't he come out and say so. HE DID.
His Minister of Foreign Affairs came out and challenged that quote the next week.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's president said on Monday Israel would soon disappear off the map and that the "satanic power" of the United States faced destruction, in his latest verbal attack on the Islamic Republic's arch-foes.
"You should know that the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime which has 60 years of plundering, aggression and crimes in its file has reached the end of its work and will soon disappear off the geographical scene," he said.
Turning to the United States, he said the era of decline and destruction of its "satanic power" had begun and added: "The bell on the countdown of the destruction of the empire of power and wealth has begun to ring."

Yet you will hear people parrot "wipe Israel off the map" by millions for many years to come.
Is there some kind of back woods contest going on to blow up as many middle eastern countries as possible now? *cough PNAC*
You really have to ask yourself how much longer they can keep this charade going before people finally start figuring it out.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I don't take them seriously at all ... They are retarded throwbacks to the Dark Ages with a lot more bark than bite. My point was, if this guy shoots off his mouth, people shouldn't waste mental energy trying to blame everyone in the Western world for persecuting poor defenseless Iran. Sorry, just officially reached the point where I am no longer willing to pretend that we are the only stupid ones here.0 -

He's just doing what Bush did; using an outside threat (US and Israel) to buy more time for himself.0

I wonder how many racist, sabre-rattling quotes from senior Israeli politicians and military men I could find which speak of wiping all Palestinians off the face of the earth, and describing them all as dogs, e.t.c?
Anyone wanna hazard a guess?0
