TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's president said on Monday Israel would soon disappear off the map and that the "satanic power" of the United States faced destruction, in his latest verbal attack on the Islamic Republic's arch-foes.

"You should know that the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime which has 60 years of plundering, aggression and crimes in its file has reached the end of its work and will soon disappear off the geographical scene," he said.

Turning to the United States, he said the era of decline and destruction of its "satanic power" had begun and added: "The bell on the countdown of the destruction of the empire of power and wealth has begun to ring."

In April, a senior Iranian army commander said Iran will respond to any military attack from Israel by "eliminating" it, in comments condemned by Washington

Dude! I've been saying the same thing since I first saw the guy. Their eyes are exactly the same and they carry the same facial expressions.

In your mind, responding to an attack and "eliminating" a country are the same thing?
Dude, what's in it for you, sticking up for the Iranian president? It just seems ... dumb.

responding to an attack? Your not referring to Iraq I'd guess...

Bush and Amadenijad do the exact same thing....they use fear...its quite effective....helps prop each other up. Wonder if these boys don't call each other late at night and choreograph this crap...

Huh? Does 444 days mean anything to you? Why do you want to support some nut who says the Holocaust never happened? You are probably the same person who supported Saddam when he was in power. Do you always support dictators?

No. He meant they physically look alike, which I agree.

say what now? i support Ahmadinejad now? In what mystical fantasy world did you get that from? Saying he looks like a middleeastern Bush means i support dictators? Why dont you just say i'm as bad as Hitler or Stalin? thats always good for a laugh.

i assume you quoted the wrong guy. stop posting when you're drunk.

Ahmadinejad did not say the holocaust never happened, and he certainly is not a dictator.

you're absolutely right. if Israel attacks Iran first, then Iran should only "respond." "Eliminating" it, however, is out of the question.

yeah whatever reborn, you know that Iran will not do anything. Israel is just looking for a reason to attack and they will. you know a little "pre emptive" thing.

My side is against war, not for Iran.

You sound like Bush u know that, really, "with us or against us". and I know you are not like him at all so I'm kinda stunned by this. hhahe!

Man.. this is funny. I haven't heard this kind of rhetoric since 2003.
More... more... Say something else... like, tell him he should move to Iran, or something.

People here question all kinds of stuff people say... like Obama or McCain or Hillary for example. Yet... this fucking Iranian George Bush... his fucking word is taken as the gospel truth! Why is that?

A lot of folks have defended Ahmadinejad's comments about 'wiping Isreal off the map' saying it was translated incorrectly. My question is, if this is true, why do you think Ahmadinejad has not publicly commented on this and clarified what the true meaning of his statement was?

Bcoz he's still a bad leader and has no real idea about how to improve this world.
But I think he has at one point done that in an interview. Not sure.

My guess is... because he is not running for President?
Here in America.. a guy(gal) says something... and other people in the "news" media pick up on it and make a big deal out of it... so the guy(gal) comes back to explain what they meant... which leads to more in the "news" media to spend hours of broadcast time argueing over it til you get so fucking disgusted with the whole thing you change the channel and watch the 'Law And Order' re-run... again.

  • It should be taken into consideration the long imposing history of western meddling that has taken place over there, and how vastly different the cultures are.

This by default does not make them evil and full of bad intentions. Not in the least.

But the media .well...they (Iran) should be a smoldering ruins by now, because they are all evil and want to destroy the world so we have to stop them.

I suppose the mentality is like taking in a bear cub at birth but abusing the hell out of it, and having to kill it before it gets big enough to attack and hurt you.

Maybe stop abusing and taking advantage of people/things lesser than you?

    hmm

    naaa...

Not saying you do this, but what makes me laugh about this board is that people will vilify and make out someone as the craziest, most dangerous person around, then take any quote that comes from him as the gospel.

We break down word for word what our politicians say, and interpret every possible meaning, but as soon as a foreign leader makes a statement, we quote it and pass it around like it's some unquestionable statement.

I was basically saying the same thing that Mr.Smith was...just that he would like to see Israel wiped off the map...I believe him...I seriously doubt he woudl do it though...even if he could

  • Two things about Ahmadinejad that the media has so dutifully (and idiotically) distorted to the point that it is almost a potential nuclear war are:

Holocaust denier: He does not deny it. He states that it is over exaggerated (over referenced if you will) to the point that it is used as a shield to murder Palestinians and violate numerous international laws, and vilify, smear and discredit people that oppose any Zionist ideology.

Israel wiped off the map: Well the current "state" of condition of Israel is doomed to be wiped from the pages of history, not the map ...there's no map..he never said the words map. He meant the "regime occupying Jerusalem" will cease to exist and be wiped from the pages of history.

Actually he never said any of that. You are either misquoting him or buying into the widely reported misinterpretations of what he said.

I'm certainly no supporter or fan of Amadenijad or Islamic Extremists. But at least get your facts straight and dislike him for real reasons. Not the reasons Bill O'Rielly and Fox News told you to use, in your dislike.

Correct. Amadenijad's comments have been largely focused and islolated to Zionist and the Zionist leaders in Israel. Not Israel or Jews as a whole.

Oh wait, I forgot the standard 2003 reply:

"Then fucking move to Iran and go be a Muslim you communist" :D:D
