Who's missing?
Sometimes list are unimaginative because it's easy to see the truth. But seriously, who is missing...I've been trying to think of some omissions, you can't please everyone.
I don't see Madonna either. :(
Hell, where's Sean Penn??

woodrow wilson? that racist prick?

That is true...I'm still waiting to see who people would add...perhaps a great female mathematician? Barbie.
Gotta be American though...
Madonna probably should be on there. There should probably be a lot more people from the world of pop culture.
Edit: I am suprised not to see Muhommad Ali.
Pop Culture....hmmmm....lasting effect or simply fad of the day? Maybe some.
That is why marilyn monroe is on there. I think Madonna will forever have a lasting effect.
Al Gore never claimed to invent the internet.
well it seems like they opened up a traditional history textbook and pulled the list from there. i'm seriously surprised over wilson, not just because he was openly racist (which had an impact on our society--increase in violence), but the interventionist aspect being painted so positively. wow.
they really played it safe with the ladies, with margret sanger being a possible exception. i'd throw alice paul on the list. she's my favorite suffragist. and what about that socialist hellen keller?

I think Rush Limbaugh should be there. But yeah, whoever I bump for Madonna, Rush and Ali, would be people that some say should not be bumped. It's a 100 person list with maybe 250 that deserve consideration.
Just because the influence is bad, does not make one not influential.
That's what I was thinking
ah, interesting point. i feel better now. although, it would be nice to see that in his blurb. and if that's the case, i'm surprised they didn't put andrew "indian killer" jackson up there (unless i missed it).

where is Michael Moore?
sweet, thanks. i'm operating in a small window here. and i had a lot of wine last night.

hes not..but you can keep thinking that.
Edit:
How can you put Betty Friedan on here and not have Ella Baker?
As Miller said, he is really not--officially speaking. He's a tough guy to figure out (by design, in part). He sang a lot about race in the 1960s, from what could generally be described as the liberal side. He also wrote a lot of anti-war tunes. Yet I think one of his books said that his favorite politician was Barry Goldwater.
He may be liberal. He may be moderate. He may even be conservative, but I don't think any of us truly knows.
That said, he is another person that you could argue for this list.
I agree. He turned more moderate in 1963 when he was asked to speak at a democratic convention, i believe ( its in the Scorsese film). Also in his book he talks about how he didnt like hippies.
And lets not forget his 3 christian albums in the late 70's.
he was born jewish. He turned Christain at that time. And now...I don't know whether he says he's Jewish, Christian or other.
the betty pick was one indication of safety to me.
i'd like to see ida tarbell on there.

AGain you cant put him into a category.
Theres alot of bible on the new album..i really have no clue though.
what about him? id say he was a pretty influential man,...

Was he American?
