Arrests, deaths, and beatings. The whole argument about "muslims" speaking out; is just fingerpointing to me.
well I think there is some validity to the argument. just takes one cleric to start a peace movement. but its hard, I understand.

It's like gang violence; nobody likes it but I dont see too many people taking time out of their lives to go confront the Crips and tell them to stop gangbanging.

not sure I agree with this analogy but it happens. there are many people who stand up to gang violence.

How do you know there aren't clerics that do preach peace? There are many people who stand up against terrorisim as well. I think we're pretty much on the same page, just look at things from different perspectives.

I agree 100%. there are many peaceful clerics who do all they can to bring about peace. I firmly believe that.

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

what would happen to a muslim country that nuked Israel? if it destroyed it, would the west retaliate and nuke that country or just invade/bomb to remove it's government?

If the west didn't nuke it/destroy it in retaliation, and only the government officials are killed/removed, then they have basically become martyrs...I think the rest of the extreme muslim world can live with that. probably a majority of the moderate muslims might be fine with it to?

this is a question that came up in a conversation about John McCain's stance on not allowing Iran to get a nuke at any costs.

To not get to this point, how to they, Israel and muslims find peace when a holy place holds more importance than human life?

Can anyone solve this here tonight while we wait for Ed's setlist :)

I think this sketch sums it up.

No dude..the CIA and the British were responsible for the revolution in 78. The shah was getting too powerful and we know what happens when a country becomes powerful in the middle east (besides Israel). Iran had the 3rd biggest military in the world back then. The shah was painted as evil and overthrown.

Another one of this administrations fuck ups is creating sympathy for this goverment. The goverment in Iran is not good. With his actions in Iraq bush has given the current goverment a pass with the rest of the world.

Be nice if more people in the western world stood up to the governments/corporations who are fucking us, and fucking poor brown people in our name, on a daily basis.

the shah was just a puppet for the government. He was put back into power by the CIA.
