I agree with you. The Spectrum is such a better venue then the FU Center or the Wacky House or whatever they call the Wachovia Center these days.

That's disheartening on two accounts.
1.) I guess I was so excited during the show that I didn't remember hearing it or my mind's eye blocked it out.
2.) You have your bootleg from the show and I'm still waiting.

Pearl Jam only played the Spectrum once, right? Its sad whenever Pearl Jam tours in the summer they always come to Camden, that 05 show at the Wachovia center was a much better venue.
Ill remember most the shitty sixers teams i saw play at there in the mid-90's and the rock shows from the late 90s.
Peter Lukko was on Daily News Live today and they asked him what acts they would like to have in before it closes. Obviously he said Bruce and Billy Joel but he specifically mentioned Pearl Jam likes playing there. I don't think this was based on any discussions, he just mentioned they like playing there and he would like to have them. Don't read into it too much. I'm sure they will try to get them though.

I try not to get overly sentimental about buildings like the Spectrum, knowing that they'll ultimately be torn down for the sake of something bigger and more lucrative to somebody ... but the truth is that since I saw my first concert in that building way back when in the '70's, and saw many, many more after that, I do feel a little sad that it's going to be gone. I've seen some really great shows there, including a great PJ show in 2003 and what my daughter and I agree is in our top three shockingly best shows (NIN, QOTSA & DFA in 2005.) I'm glad we got to the Cure show referred to in the article. The Spectrum really has a specific energy as a music venue. The Wachovia Center is just not the same.

I figure they are playing the Event Center which isn't that small but a hell of a lot smaller than an arena but I figure prices are at least $125.
I'm still debating whether or not to get Black Crowes tickets at the Event Center since I missed their 3 shows at the TLA earlier.
