I think it would be the toughest ticket for the republicans to beat.
The numbers are in his favor now, but I think Joe Biden would be a great choice. I've always been a fan of his.

  • What all do you like about Biden, personally?

He knows what the fuck he's talking about. He's very smart, and he's made for the most part wise political decisions; not necessarily decisions on paper but through other means. He's very intelligent and he actually, unlike the majority of the candidates from either party, has some experience.

Honestly, I would love to see that ticket. If not, he would make an excellent Secretary of State.

    Biden for VP.
  • If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

Could you be more specific? What has he said or done that has caused you to form this opinion of him? I could say anyone is intelligent but that doesn't mean that we are going to agree that the actions of this said person are intelligent. Like saying we should drill in ANWR (not Biden..I'm just using an example) you might think that is an intelligent stance and I may not.

I feel that the political scene these days is filled with opinions that can't seem to be backed with actual facts all too often, as well.

The comma makes all the difference in that sentence however, I'm willing to rephase.

What has Joe Biden done that you think are good, intelligent moves? What do you specifically like about the guy?

The ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden said he thinks Nader has ruined what would have been a strong legacy. "He has already done that in truth," he said.

"I used to work really closely with Ralph Nader since I got to the Senate. I've been there since 1972," Biden continued, shrugging. "It is just kind of disappointing. I don't understand the rational. I know he cares about a lot of things but it is almost as if he faded from the scene and he wants to go out like comet."

I like this guy more and more.

I just happen to be surfing around and found this interesting interview with Joe Biden, on Iran and on the GI bill:

You realize we're 13 posts into this thread, and no one has said a thing about Biden's "accomplishments," right?

There is this thing called "Google" if you are tired of waiting for someone to do your homework for you. It's really fun to find information on your own !

Here is a site with his voting record: http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=53279

I am certainly no expert on Biden and I just skimmed the site I posted above, but he does not appear to be a far left leaning liberal at all, more moderate to conservative to me, he seems to vote 'liberal' on some issues and 'conservative' on others. Again, I am no expert on the man.

When I make claims about Nader being a qualified guy, I like to back it up with substance and not just 'cuz I said so'.

I'm not the one claiming Biden is so qualified and intelligent....I'd like to know from the people who do what caused them to come to this conclusion. I don't think that's too much to ask.

If Biden doesn't understand why Nader is running then he is simply choosing to close his ears when he gets an answer.

Direct this to the person you asked, not me. My post was to Outlaw who was referring to me in his sarcastic remark, not towards you.

See post #13. He was asking me a sarcastic question to ME. I replied with a sarcastic answer to HIM. Fairly simple concept. My statement was obvious why I liked Biden but maybe you should read it again to be clear. For all of the others, that is between you and them. Ask them for an answer please.

What do you like about Matt Gonzalez? (serious question... no links, your own words please :))

but i didn't ask you to back biden up, please reread my single sentence

'well, if someone's gonna make a statement maybe they should back it up?'

i like his minimum wage w/ a sliding scale for inflation he implemented, i like how he fought for the consumer against the cell phone companies, he's had a career of fighting political corruption and environmental crimes, he enacted campaign and election reforms, instant run-off voting, his stance and answer for health care, iraq, foreign policy, energy policy (not the 'maybe 25% by 2025 obama pushes)....

    He's fucking hot! duh :D

Seriously, I could go on and on about this guy but Kabong highlighted his strengths pretty well. I will add that on top of all of his wonderfully progressive record...he is a passionate and extremely articulate speaker, he really helps deliver the emotion behind the cause which makes him an amazing asset for Nader who can be very detail-oriented and methodical when speaking...so together they offer the best of both worlds. :)

Honestly, I would love to see that ticket. If not, he would make an excellent Secretary of State.

I don't think he'll be on the ticket as VP (he has reputation for running his mouth which could be seen as a liability) but I totally agree that he should be Secretary of State.
