Doesn't anyone want to try and illustrate "don't know wether I'm the boxer or the bag" ?

appropriate, seeing as how the threadstarter's nick is in it :p

plus : i'd like to see someone do it

Here is a photoshop attempt at "don't know whether I was the boxer or the bag. It is an ap photo (and some photoshop) of a fight between christy martin..nicknamed the coalminer's daughter (thought that was appropriate being the ledbetter song) and laila ali. Ali whooped her in four rounds--august 23, 2003.

well, like I said, "don't know wether I was the boxer or the bag was just an assocoated press photo that seemed to fit, then I just dropped a couple of bags in layers. I just thought the chick that lost this one didn't really know if she was the boxer or a bag.

and on "I see them on the front porch, but they don't wave" I just cut and pasted the characters from "American Gothic", gave em legs, added a drop shadow and plunked them on my front porch.

Simple photoshop..haven't played with it in awhile. In fact last time I seriously played in photoshop was like three or four versions ago and I still had cool plug-ins like alien skin. I'll have to brainstorm some more.

Ooooooh, I thought you actually made the porch and the people yourself...
I'm gonna have to do stuff like that next year @ school

As for the boer or the bag : I know my way around photoshop a little, and had that figured out already. thx for the explanation though.

Let's find some more lyrics ...

I have found that when listening to some music, especially pearl jam, you need to do something more than just listen to the song. I know it sounds silly but I love illustrating the lyrics. Even though mine suck heres a few I have done

all of your pictures are brilliant, i love your work eggyoda.
i wish i could paint but seeing as i cant i think she dreams in colour she dreams in red should be a split screen: 1 side drenched in red with a girl submissive under a violent partner, and 1 side beautifully coloured with her holding the same mans hand.

    another lyric is:
alone, restless, a breakfast table in an otherwise empty room, young girl, Violence.

    hope someone responds

Check these out. I picked the posters based on style and feel of the different band memebers. Can you figure them out?

p.s. I just finished Matt today, I have not posted him yet.

I'm trying to get people to email Ten Club and ask them to put them up on the site or in Deep Magazine or something. I was thinking they could give them away for donations to the carbon portfolio.

Please let them know you like them! Thanks!

WOW!!!! I am just going back to college for graphic design and I hope I can get as good as you! I would totally buy your eddie vedder drawing...but we aren't supposed to sell things in here and I have a feeling if you are posting here you wouldn't part with it anyway. Your website is awesome. You are even in my neck of the woods. LOVE your Chicago stuff too. I used to live and go to school there.

You most certainly may. Since its on yahoo photos and you can order stuff from them I have even had calendars made for people of my landscapes. I think galleries are too pricy for real people anymore anyhow. I mostly give away my stuff to friends. I wouldn't post it if I didn't want anybody to have a copy.

    Thanks
