illustrating PJ lyrics

I started thinking about it...and there are actually a lot of pearl jam lyrics that just would make really incredible illustrations in the hands of some great atists/photographers like I have seen there are in here.

I thought maybe we could make a list of lyrics that lend themselves to illustration. Who knows...we get a good list...and enough people decide to do a drawing or two..could become quite an interesting collaboration.

Here are a couple of lyrics off the top of my head and I would appreciate any you have to offer:

"thoughts arrive like butterflies"

"she dreams in color, she dreams in red"

"big man stands behind and open door, says leave your lady on the cement floor"

That's cool. And you're right, lots of their lyrics would make great pictures. Hope you do some more. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

Just thought of some more drawable lyrics and don't want to forget them.

"all five horizons revolve around the sun"

and something really abstract for "spin the black circle"

you can't quite see because the pic isn't big enough, but she has one eye slit open..her hand is in the space for the second pillow because shes pretending to be just asleep as he looks her over, but she still wants him to be there.

that is some impressive stuff, first time i've seen an artist's interpretation of lyrics. It'd be interesting to see if there are any other artists out there with drawings of the same lyrics/ songs, see what similarities/differences there are.

I agree it would be cool to see other artists do some stuff.

A computer based graphic would be really impressive for a lot of stuff and some oild that take awhile to do might be neat. I'm just whipping out pastels in a couple of hours.

What I really want to see is a comic book art black and white line drawing version of big man stands behind an open door with a large black outline and ligght streaming in showing a woman slumped on the floor and maybe a guy from the back in one corner that is being talked to.

Wouldn't it be cool if PJ put out a call to some really amazing artists and put together a graphic novel of select lyrics from their songbook. I'd love to buy something like that.

Eggyoda makes pictures from lyrics, some are pj lyrics, some are from other bands. Have a look. it's pretty cool.

Here is a sign I made to hold up at the E. Rutherford shows. I was behind stage all night 6/3 and got the thumbs up from Mike and Ed reflected his guitar light off it for a few seconds. It's an illustration of WWS. "Tells us to pray while the Devil's on his shoulder..."

as far as illustrating PJ lyrics goes, i'm working on one of given to fly to the words "wind rose up set him down on his knees", inspiration just struck today as i was listening to the live recording of it at Puerto Alegre. I'll try and scan and post once it's done :)

The first night it Ed thought I was holding up the sign to request Bushleager, he asked the crowd if they would BOO that song and the indicated yea (WTF!). Anyway the second night I gave up my 10c seats to get prime exposure behind the stage and it was so worth it. I did feel like I got to be part of the show. Mike looked right at me and put his hands together as if he was praying then gave me the thumbs up. Thats all I needed I fuckin rocked so hard after that!
