Cool thread - awesome photographs

Even though spiders can give me the willies, I find them fascinating with their amazing weaving abilities-and they rid the earth of many flying creepy insects. I have a no spider kill policy but will capture and move out any large scary ones.

Oh I do love a spider web! So pretty. The Golden Orb has been out again under the carport on the hot nights here. I'll have to try to get a shot of him but I really have no idea how to post pics. I do try not to kill spiders but sometimes my terror takes over. I have been much better with them the last few years. As long as they stay out of the house and the car we get along just fine!

I made myself watch these pictures, and i have phobia of spiders!
they scare me a lot, ok note to myself avoid this thread

I HATE butterflies... spiders creep me out a BIT but butterflies and moths give me nightmares :eek:

was baking the other day and look what I found at the bottom of the
food proseccor, dead bugs... guess I dont use it much....lol...

And Robin Williams thinks god was just on dope when he created the platypus. God must have been on acid when putting these spiders together. That first one is f'n cool!

This guy made his home outside my kitchen window for several days. This is the best photo I could get of him. Every time I tried to get a "leg extended" pose, he ran away. Spidey did not want to cooperate with my art.

#2 and #3 are very very pretty colours.
but why oh why do they need all those legs and why must they be so hairy?

We call them "Garden Spiders" here in the states, dearie. She can bite, but her venom is not toxic to us humans.
