One of my favorites is the work with the logs, where he collected and forced warped logs into this giant spiral. It's just so large-scale, it's amazing. I would give my left arm to have the kind of patience he must have.

ahhh,,,,this was one of the best websites i found when searching...thanks :)

i love how he does stuff like....when it's raining, he'll go lay on a huge rock.....and when it's stopped he'll get up, and this mark of a body is left on the dry bit of rock....i mean it's so simple that one, but imaginative......amazing.

  • i LOVE the stuff he does with leaves....especially the maple leaves, from a yellow to purple....amazing.
  • You just reminded me of this one... another favourite, thought I'd see how it looks on the board ;)

nicely done!!! that looks amazing...i love that one. have you seem the one i meant? like this one, but a small strip, purple to yellow. i think it's on the page BP put up....

hey, here is my final list of artists im doing:

    line: bridget riley
tone: this students work i found online....thought it would be nice to use it, his name was Josh Messite....i think.
    shape: kandinsky
    form: henry moore
texture: andy goldsworthy (although....he deffinatly would fit into alot of these catagories)
    colour: hundertwasser

think they'll be okay? they are all artists which i like....well kind of, bridget riley is good, but some of it i wouldnt call art (ooooh, contravercial!)
  • The strip that looks like a rainbow?... it's very effective, I'd love to see the originals in reality, before he photographs them. I think he fits into the texture section best.

Wouldn't disagree with any of those choices you made, but I'd personally use Antony Gormley instead of Henry Moore, just because I love his work. But for art course purposes Henry Moore probably has more variety.

Good luck for a good grade :D

ps.. art is supposed to be controversial ;) there's loads of "Bridget Rileys" out there ... alot of it I wouldn't call art either! (Don't get me started on Tracy Emin or Martin Creed!)

Excellent choice! I haven't been on the board for a while, that's why I noticed this thread now... Can't stop thinking of colours and lines now.... ;)
For colour I was thinking of Kirchner, Macke, Miro, Chagall and Marc. For line maybe Dufy or Mondriaan. Tone: some work of de Chirico. For texture maybe Braque or Duchamp. Shape: Wright (maybe check for Arp and Munoz http://museum.antwerpen.be/middelheimopenluchtmuseum/index_eng.html under collection)
Anyway: good luck with the art work!!
RIP Syd ... Shine on you crazy diamond ...
