    Shadows fall across the fields where we used to lay

    The storms blew in swiftly from the west.
    We just closed our eyes and slow danced to the moody blues.
    For an hour or two, we were gods
    and there's nothing you could say to change the way I feel about you now.

    It's been years since then
    but the ruts in this road remain
    I'm still trying to put the pieces together.
    The wind chimes play their haunting melody to these empty fields
    and tonight, there are no stars in the summer sky.
