i think you are one of those people that take pearl jam too seriously on politics, and frankly I am getting a bad taste in my mouth because of it.

Geeze where did that come from? He didn't even really mention politics in that post. So what if he was? PJ are very vocal about their views and opinions on politics we're allowed to be too.

I usually disagree with O'Reilly but that doesn't mean I'm going to disregard anything that he says. To pigeonhole someone as "of the right" and refuse to acknowledge what they say is stupid. I think he made a very good comment about rock stars and politics once, saying that preaching to the choir was stupid, and that if they want to make politics a priority, they should be expected to debate it with people who disagree with them, instead of just shouting out liberal slogans on the stage. Eddie Vedder, take note.

Not to mention he's quite funny. But to be honest, I think the Ameircan news networks are pathetic. You've got Olbermann (sp) taking shots at O Reilly, O Reilly taking shots at Olbermann. Good for ratings but hardly professional.
I would say that preaching to the choir is, with regards to rock stars on stage saying how they feel about current events and politics, is absolutely NO DIFFERENT than Obama or McCain out campaigning. Undecided voters and voters that support the other party hardly ever goes to the other's rallies. So all that soap boxing they did was also preaching to the choir. We could argue the merit of it all all day long, but in the end there really is nothing wrong with Eddie or any rock star that people follow and support artistically to say how they feel when they have the microphone and the attention of X-thousand people. If someone feels passionately about something, politic or otherwise, I would expect that to be a big part of what shapes that individual. Some bands sing about hot chicks, fast cars, and drugs. Others sing about more serious issues like politics, child abuse, and homelessness, and drug use. Neither is right or wrong, it all just boils down to personal preference as a fan.

Thats unfortunate. I'm non-partisan, but Bill O'Reilly has been shown time and time again to be complete joke. I would also say the other networks are not much better. Its really a shame.
And Olbermann hasn't? Oh yes he has.

No it's not unfortunate at all. Particularly so because I don't need O'Reilly, Olbermann, Sanchez or any news man or woman to think for me. I can watch anything and take care of the cerebral part all by myself so I'm better off for watching all of the news be it good, bad or indifferent.
