but it was classy of him to support a seemingly "liberal" cause

I saw that two, had to rewind my DVR to hear it again. I've always thought Bill "O was a Pearl Jam fan, they play a lot of lesser known Pearl Jam songs as bumpers coming in and out of commercial breaks on the Radio Factor.

  • I'm actually ashamed to admit this, but I saw it too.

Was flipping channels during my nightly Maddow/Olbermann/Daily Show tradition of the last couple months and saw something about Phil Donahue coming up, so stuck around to watch it. It's like he's trying to paint Donahue into a corner and get him to say he doesn't honor the troops or something. Then he said that he had him on because "I want Thomas Young to have as much money as possible" then plugged the DVD on pearljam.com... "Pearl Jam, the rock band, dot com"

Did you see the last time Phil was on? O'Reilly got tore up. Donahue, I think served 4 months in jail after the episode for this total public beat down.

I just find it so strange/funny/sad/silly that people need to justify the fact that they watched Bill O'Reilly. Seriously.

I watch O'Reilly regularly and feel no shame.

I'm a regular listener to the Radio Factor, I enjoy the show. I know folks are going to be in disbelief but I think Bill 'O is making a move (slightly) to the Left, actually making the show more centrists which he has claimed it has been over the years when in fact it was Right of center. He will deny it up and down but it's definetly in response to the enthusiasm for Obama in America as well as the success of Keith Olberman's Countdown show.

Bill 'O does not want to be turned into Sean Hannity.

I was actually proud a few months ago when I heard Bill actually admit that the Iraq war was a mistake, something he again reiterated in that Donahue interview. Bill 'O is also taking a lot of heat over the report on his show the day after the election that really opened up the controversy over Sarah Palin's behavior during the campaign and her lack of knowledge.

I usually disagree with O'Reilly but that doesn't mean I'm going to disregard anything that he says. To pigeonhole someone as "of the right" and refuse to acknowledge what they say is stupid. I think he made a very good comment about rock stars and politics once, saying that preaching to the choir was stupid, and that if they want to make politics a priority, they should be expected to debate it with people who disagree with them, instead of just shouting out liberal slogans on the stage. Eddie Vedder, take note.

Not to mention he's quite funny. But to be honest, I think the Ameircan news networks are pathetic. You've got Olbermann (sp) taking shots at O Reilly, O Reilly taking shots at Olbermann. Good for ratings but hardly professional.

I've never heard Bill O say anything about Olbermann unless he was asked. Unlike Olbermann who's so obviously in love with Bill O which is why he's so fixated on him to the point that it's embarrassing. Don't think Olbermann could fill his hour show if he couldn't rant about Bill O.

And that's not Olbermann hate talking; that's reality and anyone who watches him knows it's true. I know it's true because, obviously I watch him, too. See, that's how you get the news from all sides and slants.

And then not be a sheep and go make up your own mind versus letting rock stars/actors/boyfriends/best friends make it up for you. Left wing, right wing, conservative, liberal....bored, now.

O'Reilly is a fair guy. Yeah, he leans right, but he is thoughtful in his opinions. He's not Hannity.

To his credit, yes he is not. Hannity is the anti-christ. I don't know if there is anyone in the world I hate more than that sorry piece of shit.

Thats unfortunate. I'm non-partisan, but Bill O'Reilly has been shown time and time again to be complete joke. I would also say the other networks are not much better. Its really a shame.

I would agree with this view of O'Reilly. He is steadfast on his opinions, but they are "his" opinions and not necessarily the conservative right's opinions. He is not like Rush (who spews snake oil).

I know that my super conservative friends always complain that O'Reilly every once in a while has "flawed views" (i.e. he disagrees with Rush and the super conservative right).

He does ride a high horse though . . .

i'm just telling it like it is, setting up the scenario

my dad is older and hard of hearing, the TV is on full blast, i usually stop by my folks house around 8pm....so the O'Reilly show, along with Andy Griffith reruns, are shows that i am exposed to daily and know the ins and outs of despite the fact that I personally don't watch
