  • Am I the only one actually DRAWING my poster instead of "cheating" (:D) using computer programs? BTW, not quite done yet - got most of the sketch done, but still need color, then scan, the print onto medium stock paper...

If your scanning yours your using a computer program.....why not just DRAW your poster to size, no need to scan and print.....scan and print mean computer programs.

sorry Swallowedwords you beat Dunk to the punch my bad.

so 3 people entered....... puhlease! show a backbone the rest of you!

Perhaps people have not posted so noone steals an idea from them....I see you have had yours up for a while now, your idea is great, but it opens the door to anyone who wants to use their hometown theatre for a show, no matter what city they live in.....as an artist dont you see things that could have been tweeked and made better, I wont submit or show anything till deadline.

well, through scanning and printed, it comes out much cleaner. And it is not using a computer program like photoshop to MAKE the design. I've made it all by hand. I guess I will wait and see exactly what it looks like once I am done to see if I want to submit the original, or scan it and print it. Either way, I am going to make a copy for myself, so I will have to scan and print it.

if I already mailed mine in I can't really do much other than show it. If someone wants to steal an idea can't do much about that. Part of the art world I suppose. I'd rather show it and share it then hide it for another month. Ten club has it they know what came first, they've been looking at it for a month ;-). In other words a risk I'll take. I'm sure there are unoriginal bastards who'd steal ideas, they do it in everything. Fuck Picasso stole ideas all the time.

Hey share it whenever you want to just share it at some point so us common honest folk can see it. I would imagine me making a hometown theatre my venue isn't that original of an idea. I totally understand what your were saying, not knocking that, just want to see some posters by golly! Take a chance show it off, be proud....c'mon do it, you know you'll like it.....

I wait anxiously the next month to see yours and if offended by my cephlapod (too lazy to check spelling here) insult I made, sorry. Be cautious, if you please, just show us all your idea later.

Oh for the record the Australia poster with the kangaroo still for sale on the goods site is really cool in real life.

Oh yeah, if anything showing our stuff just raises the bar for everyone else. In the end we all win as a cool poster will be in some issue of deep magazine! Competition is a good thing!

I am drawing mine and will be sending it in with out scanning, copying, printing.............

10C will receive a true original copy. :)

ooohh - ok, i sort of stumbled in here, and am feeling mighty overwhelmed ...

sent my entry off this afternoon - tried to stay away from the Ames look as much as i could, and still give it a pearl jam feel

    http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/zenith75/compentryv32.jpg

i had two other entries, but after an informal vote of sorts in the aussie thread this was chosen

bloody hell the entries in here are good tho - i think they need to do a special pull out spread in deep with the best

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

All of these are great! I sure am glad I don't have to pick a winner. :)

nice to see a woodcut! We are actually doing lnocuts in my art class right now. Love that medium.

These are all great, I like seeing how we all add our own little things and the places theya are from is also cool to see.

Keep em coming, After the deadline I'll make a pos with a link to all of them on one page for easier viewing in the thread.

    great works!

I think the scan is enough, but the cheapest way back would be in a poster tube ala US priority. If you alreadyt have a poster tube it'll be just under 6 bucks.

    good luck to you all

Did my all by hand - about 90% done. Still have to color background, scan, and print out. Picture doesn't do it justice...I dont think it is amazing, but I am happy with how it turned out, considering I did it all by hand.

so far I have seen a lot of computer generated posters, I hand drew mine, all the more reason they should have multiple winners. I will post mine in Jan. Here is a hint, It is in Southern Cali
  • i love all the people being super hush hush about their designs... :D

god i hope theres not a brilliant design out there that we havent seen yet! none of us shouldve shared cause now people have a standard of excellence that they know they must surpass to win... i kindof like the idea of multiple winners... how hard is it to sign a couple posters?

and i betcha theres a flipper / professional graphic artist / 10 clubber out there who's trying for this prize too... how much y'all think this poster would be worth on ebay? (just out of curiosity of course :D )
