Dear 10Club,

This is Josh -- member number (143---) -- long time fan, attended over 30 shows, doing 8 more (hopefully) this June. The 10c is hands down the greatest fan club operation of any band out there today. You guys give personal attention to a huge operation and it doesn't go unnoticed. When I boast of the greatness of PJ, 10C is usually in my top 3 things (after Eddie's melodic song writing ability and Mike's guitar playing).

But guys, your ecommerce functionality could be a lot better. Let me help you redesign it so that it can withstand the load it gets. This morning was not first-come first-serve. It was reload-the-most, get-served. It was just awful. It was not worthy of 10Club or Pearl Jam.

If you're interested in a scalable infrastructure that can handle the 100,000+ simultaneous log-ins that you receive on days like today, let me know. I work with world-class developers at an internet company here in NYC. We run CollegeHumor.com, Vimeo.com, and BustedTees.com. Let me put together a team for you and get you a new ecommerce site. I'll make sure the cost is fair and reasonable and puts you in a position to never again have a day like today.

I didn't get MSG 1 but I got MSG 2 and I'll be hitting the Florida, DC, NJ, and CT shows, so TM seats will do for MSG 1 :)

I love you guys, please don't take this the wrong way. I just want to help.

Josh Mohrer

Good luck with your quest. I know they've got a tech company called Wedgetail Consulting, Inc listed as their IT / IS company. Google that and you'll find that their website should be wedgetailtechs.com, but apparently the company's web presence lapsed and someone else is parked there. Strange that an IT consulting company has no web presence.

They are/he is also on the board:

You might try sending him a PM and see what the story is. I have a feeling he's out of his league in terms of building scalable systems, redundancy, fail over, etc... Or maybe the 10 Club only gives him a budget of $50/year to hold the system together. He seems to be a mac guy, so maybe Pearl Jam's backend is running on an old Apple Lisa or something.

nice plug but the system works fine for 95% of the sales

people were able to buy tickets, so I fail to see why they need an ecommerce upgrade

I got shut out for night two, but thats the way it goes. Some get em some dont-its really all thre is to it.

I'm also a web developer, but I don't think it's a problem with the actual website. I think it's more of a problem with the server(s). I think the servers are trying to accomodate for more users than it can handle. I've never experienced an error outside of having the site crash because of too many users, so it isn't the website's code that is a problem.

Pearl Jam just has too many fans ;):D
