I wanted to combine it with the one thing I enjoy as much as PJ; my job (firefighter). The bare-knuckle boxer is kind of an old school symbol of the Irish roots in the fire service. Stockton is my hometown and where I work (just in case you were wondering). Hopefully, everything else should be self-explanatory. It's a little small on the link, but I hope you like it!

And no, I didn't because I'm moderately retarded and only know how to attach a link to my photobucket page.

i love it kevin! im sure mr mccready would too b/c of the irishness and the social distortion!

and in case youre curious about how to post the image directly in the other thread, its really easy... if your image is already up on photobucket just copy the image link (should be etc) and paste it into the thread

are they going to have more than one winner. Hand drawn vs computer generated>?

unlikely... would kindof take away from the uniqueness of the prize... im sure they have in mind what theyre looking for... might solely take into consideration creativity and the effort of the execution, materials, etc... we'll just have to wait and see what they do tho... anyone remember how long they took judging the avocado pit entries?

The winner wasn't announced until the next Deep Mag was published, so it was almost a year before word came out. (I know b/c I won)
That contest was also touted as to be singularly prized and yet they chose 2, maybe because of the diversity of the media & entries.
So don't hold your breath waiting to hear the results for this contest either. I think there has been better participation for this one, hence more entries, this may mean even more time needed to judge.

Thanks! I wasn't sure I was going to have time to do this, but I ended up doing it on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. You know the swarm represents us right?

according to someone else on here the judging for the last contest wasnt announced until the next newsletter... so it could potentially be 6 mo. maybe even a year depending on when they release the next issue of Deep

    and nice poster! :D
