Actually it's not so much the look but the behavior. Frat boys are easy to pick out based on what they're doing.

Don't forget yelling obnoxiously because they want other people to hear how "funny and witty" they can be... most likely by yelling at someone for wearing a hat of a sports team that they don't like.

Going to have to disagree with you on that one. They were certainly a popular band with generation X, but frat boys were not the first ones to go to shows, nor were they ones that went to Lollapallooza in the early 90's.

Frat boys are exactly what the alternative music "revolution" was rallying against. Pearl Jam songs are chalked full of feminist ideals and rallying against violence and disrespect towards women and making them into objects. Frat boys are the drunken assholes are the exact opposite.

Camden was the epitome of frat-boys. That parking lot was such a terrible scene it made me embarrassed as a fan.

    You're right.

The frat boys began showing up after it became the "cool" thing to do. Which is why Pearl Jam had to produce Vitalogy and No Code. Weed them the fuck out.

last night i was standing behind the biggest frat guy of all time.

was wearing a white lacoste collared shirt which probably cost $100, khakis, super charged steroid muscles, a beer in each hand all night, and had a hot trophy bitch.

he was kind of cool though, wasn't causing any problems.

You basically just agreed with me.......Pearl Jam was not near as big in the 90's UNTIL the frat boys started moshing and slamming at the shows in the pit......that is when it got out of control, they had to pull back and that made Pearl Jam what they were in the 90's.

In my area, a frat boy looks like:
-light blue Oxford shirt buttoned up except for the top (maybe top 2 buttons) so you can see their white t-shirt underneath the blue shirt OR a light pastel colored (yellow, pink, etc) polo shirt....also, whichever shirt they are wearing has to be tucked in
-long, khaki pants --- whenever it is too hot for long pants, khaki shorts are permissable
-belt with the South Carolina flag logo (moon and palmetto tree emblem) running across it....this is why the shirt has to be tucked in, as they want you to notice their belt
-some type of leather thong flip flops
-backwards hat, most likely with a logo of their college
    -sunglasses
-the obligatory shit-eating grin whenever they see one of their frat brothers
-at a Pearl Jam show, they are also the ones yelling for Ed to shut up when he's talking and play "Jeremy" instead

Yeah, but turn the hat around so it is worn backwards (for extra edgy cool points).
