Yep, he's referring to Howard Zinn. Eddie has talked about Zinn during some concerts..can't remember which ones, tho.

Oftentimes in Boston, as Zinn is well known there. (PJ never plays a bad show in MA or Boston proper, so check out any of those boots and you wont be disappointed)
Boston 2010 they played Undone which is a Zinn tribute, and Ed spoke briefly about him prior to the song. Im sure they spoke of him at the Vote For Change shows in Boston in 2004, but sadly there are no official boots of those shows
