I was thinking of George Eliot's statement "There must be a systole and diastole in every enquiry", so I went to read up my old school biology notes on the heart, from years ago. Also, I have the complete OED (I mean the complete OED) in my library/study, and I went to check up the word tenacious used....
there's no match in there...nothing really etymologically close...so I reckon tenacious is the next Finnegans Wake-era Joyce in creating a splendiferous neologism.
As TS Eliot said, genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood, so tenacious can say we understood the implicature on a deep level even though we're still stumped about the basics......

I think it's about the vicissitudes of lurve.
  • ha...

oraclatious = teeth being the oral oracles, i.e. oraclatious path things must consecute to reach the inner mouth

diastomacious - is a combination of two words

diatomaceous = as in being filled with diatoms, or their skeletons

(Diatoms = Any of various microscopic one-celled or colonial algae of the class Bacillariophyceae, having cell walls of silica consisting of two interlocking symmetrical valves.)

diastema = a space, or gap between the teeth

I was making things up, obviously, but they have roots, yes?

This poem is about one special pleasure bestowed upon manhood.

And so, yes, Finsbury, you would have found no such words in your OED. :) But thanks for trying. :)
