Sultry evening has just become the pampered bunny.

I never thought I'd see the day.

Is it abasement? Romance? Or was it just the funny mushrooms on last night's pizza?

We may never know. BUT I HAVE seen a Christmas Story, so I know exactly how good you look in those ears.

time goes slowly here
in my open-doored cage
it crawls through the shelves
where the books are kept
without ever turning a page

dont slam the door
when you step out into rain
let it flood through the windows
choke me screaming your name

there's no reason to stay
cant find an excuse to let go
only the sound of your last laugh
thats keeping that clock so slow

telephones, buzzing in tune
like a funeral waltz
playing too soon.

but no one was there
to throw anymore dirt.

heres some new ones from me
and a couple of my fave poems that i had with me.

Poppy

It pains me that the poppy has died
I had such high hopes for you
little plant
you grew without me noticing,
unchecking, I thought you a weed,
growing in an untidy corner of my heart and garden
the one day
I saw a bloom

I mistook you for a carnation at first
I read an omen
into your flowering buds
an omen of the girl
and omens into the two buds yet to burst.

Then in interfered with your growth
I added soil and water
and cut your largest flower
to give to my new love.

But the petals fell
before I had even left my tumbledown garden
and now your dry and withered.

Why do I idolize the mundane so much
Your were but a flower and you made me happy
so I'll treasure that and won't mourn you anymore.

heres one by a great guy- Henry Normal
he's a comedy writer and has published some ace poetry.

The night my heart caught fire

The blue lights flashed like a cheap disco at a wedding
6 firemen in yellow hats and matching trousers
jumped out of the red engine and the hoses pissed forth.
As damp rapidly became an understatement
a white hat took charge.
" That's the worse case of heartburn I've ever seen" he joked
dragging me unconscious from the wreckage. When eventually I came to I checked my inside pockets- I was in luck , they'd not wet my matches.

Char Boy- Tim Burton

For Christmas, Char Boy recieved his usual lump of coal
which made him very happy

For Christmas, Char Boy recieved a small present instead of
his usual lump of coal,
which confused him very much.

For Christmas, Char Boy was mistaken for a dirty fireplace
and swept out into the street.

a hug that's deliberatly cut too short
to stop me saying what I should not.

Is this love that I have not enough
to see me through the baggage,
I unwittingly struggle to carry behind me?

You've seen me laugh, and sing, and cry naked.
In company must I forget this?
Hiding the fact I long to breathe you in , as my air.

Every scene, every thought is shrouded in you.
In such short, sweet weeks
My soul has been bared and opened.
Must I lock it away again.
Be part of my peace and happiness
without restraint.
But even the restraint is a glory in your arms.
