Why would Pearl Jam care? And how would we know what Pearl Jam think?

Does it matter what the think? ...

As for SW.. Didnt he get kicked out of STP for his drug problems, not being dedicated to the band etc... the press release given by Slash about SW leaving Velvet Revolver seems awfully similar.

I don't mind STP, in fact I like a lot of their tunes, I'm just sort of questioning SW's intentions...

I have no idea what any member of pearl jam thinks about STP or Scott, but I think that would be awesome. Isn't Velvet Revolver still touring?

Yea I hope they can at least squeeze 1 or 2 albums out of Weiland....

I liked VR...Seen them about a half of dozen times..Scott's energy was fantastic...But I still will take STP over VR anyday.....

Hey now that Scott is out of VR they can choose between Sebastian Bach, Mike Patton, or Travis Meeks to be their new singer....lol

STP put out some very good music and I would like to see them return to form.

I just called the guys up, although Stone didn't pick up, so I left a message.. The consensus was that STP is an ok band and they have memorable tunes although Ed thought they were a little too commercial for his liking. I then reminded Ed they covered Last Kiss and he gave me a little chuckle.

I think the true question is: When does Chris Cornell step into Velvet Revolver's opening spot!?

Let me give the boys a ring at home since they are so open about telling us their views on music and world news. If they don't answer, i'm sure someone here knows.

First of all, why would PJ care?? They seem like a band that don't talk shit about other bands that often, so if they thought anything I'm sure theyd keep it for them selves.

And I would love to see STP, not that I listen to them any longer...but i would go for the nostalgia. And SW is kinda cool live. Much rather STP than VR. Supergroups are often so boring.

If somehow both PJ & STP end up on the ACL bill, I'll be maybe the one thing I would have never thought I'd be:

Excited and eager to go to Texas.

  • I've always assumed that bands from early 90s Seattle explosion (you know who they are) had their feelings broadcast towards groups such as STP, Candelbox, and Bush in the (somewhat oblique) Soundgarden song, "Spoonman."

Now, I might be wrong, but it's going to take a lot to convince me otherwise based on how little respect I believe they have for bands that co-opted their sound and were paid handsomely to do so...

    "Spoonman"
Feel the rhythm with your hands
Steal the rhythm while you can, spoonman
Speak the rhythm on your own
Speak the rhythm all alone, spoonman

Spoonman, come together with your hands
Save me, I'm together with your plan
    Save me

    All my friends are Indians
All my friends are brown and red, spoonman
    All my friends are skeletons
They beat the rhythm with their bones, spoonman

Feel the rhythm with your hands
Steal the rhythm while you can, spoonman

So to answer your question, I'd say Pearl Jam as a band is indifferent to an STP reunion.

Agreed. And I'm not sure how I'd feel about it either. I didn't love Audioslave, but I thought the pairing was good. I don't think I'd feel the same with Velvet. Not to mention that if Cornell is still sober, he wouldn't be a week into with those boys.
