The Tabernacle in Atlanta would be just great for Ed....

I've never been to any shows at any of the small venues in ATL, but I'd go for The Tabernacle or maybe even Fox Theatre

    http://www.tabernacleatl.com/

    http://www.foxtheatre.org/

Anyone know if the Cotton Club is still open? I remember when Brad played there YEARS ago.

    http://www.atlantamusicguide.com/amg/venues/cotton_club

Seems like it's closed. Only 600 people? Wow! Could you imagine?

We really need to keep this thread going. Where else would it be cool to see Ed play in the south- which venues/cities?

about how many people does it hold? any clue?

    Edit:

The Tabernacle is a 2600 capacity, 4 story, 100 year old converted church that has permanent seats in both the first and second balconies (200, 300, and 400 sections respectively for reserved seated shows). The main floor of the original sanctuary which is now the performance space is standing room only unless the show is a reserved seating show. General Admission Tickets allow access to all levels whether seated or standing. During reserve seated shows you must posses a ticket to enter a reserved section on any level

Yeah, my vote goes to The Tabernacle

I emailed the general manager of The Tabernacle and he got back to me this morning. He told me that he felt that his club was too small for Ed's popularity, but would love to have him. He assured me that he will be in contact with Ed's tour manager soon.

Come back to Asheville!! The Thomas Wolfe would be great. The Orange Peel would be better....as long as I can get a ticket!! More so Deerfeilds in Mills River, NC would be a perfect venue, one could only hope!! Still loved the show in San Diego!!! Honestly I would travel just about anywhere but with the limited seating/tickets at the excellent venues already booked it is damn near impossible. That dosen't mean I won't keep trying. But sure play the South!!! My anger can't be expresseed enough for all the scalping on EBay and other sites. At some point, and I know this is getting awat from the "play the south" point but, there was a movement against the rediciouls Ticketmaster charges but they don't hold a candle to what in happening online. Green Disease.

    Mary the Theatre Ghost
Countless times over the past 50 years performers and employees at the Orpheum have noticed a little girl in a white dress and pigtails sitting in seat C-5, Box 5. Although her blank stare and ethereal appearance have upset some who have seen her, the little girl known as Mary has never disrupted a performance. In fact, it seems as though she adores the theatre.

One version of the story is that Mary was struck by a trolley, and was carried into the theatre where she soon died. An investigation by Dr. Lee Sutter's parapsychology class at University of Memphis alternatively suggested that the little girl actually died during a downtown accident and did not wander into the Orpheum until after her death.

Regardless of how she came to the theatre, she apparently enjoyed her new surroundings and the performances and has stayed as our guest for nearly 80 years!
