I don't know if we'd have enough in the midlands so maybe London? I don't know... what do ya think?

Well I can do either but i'll need plenty of notice for London.

I agree that there may not be enough in the Midlands, I think we'll get a bigger crowd if we keep it to the capital then us few can travel down together?

yeh, I think you're right... we may get up to 10 if we have it in the midlands but all the goodies might be a bit wasted then and we'd only make £100

I am wondering whether it would be possible to do some kind of "Secret Santa". Everyone attending the meetup makes a donation of any amount in Laura's name, and then receipts for the donation are exchanged at the meetup?

This strikes me as the simplest way to do it?

been chatting about this awhile in PMs...no iudea there was a thread for it.


i really like the idea of doctors without borders, but as you said.....could be that every locality chooses their own charity as beneficiary?


no matter what, gathering together pj fans and raising $$$ for a charity laura supported....i can think of no more fitting tribute in her honor, such an amazing and giving woman...so smart and ridiculously funny.

personally, i think december would work better, especially for those of us in the states. many os us already have the VFC screening next week, and then a major holiday at the end of the month, not much free time imo. if we have it all more around her sad anniversary 12.08.08.......before or after, but within the first 2 weeks to steer cleer of the december holidays, i think it would be good.


i will definitely ask around some NYers for tips, pointers, suggestions for places, going about involving a charity, etc.

Thank you that would be brilliant. I don't think it really matters when it's held... the most important thing is that we make some money I think Laura'd be proud of us if we could do that.
