Obama is a nice guy, but never discusses policy. If he thinks he can just 'get by' on this HOPE thing he is sadly mistaken. The only change he and the democrats want is the change from your pocket. Tell ya what, the gov't takes too much as it is, and they waste it on absurd spending programs and pork barrel projects. I do not want a nanny-state big time federal gov't forcing me to hand over more of my hard earned $ so they can blow it on entitlement programs and bridges to nowhere.

Of course we all want nothing more than for billary to go away.

so i guess your NOT voting republican then...

since the last democrat in office balanced the budget and actually worked with a surplus...

you republicans are way to easy to manipulate... almost as if the last 7 years havent happened?

by the way... that "bridge to no where"... was proposed and supported by a REPUBLICAN senator from Alaska, Ted Stevens... who is currently under a separate federal investigation for accepting bribes...

nice try, some of us do our homework ;)

after all that talk of governement taking your $... i bet you make no issue of the hundreds of billions being stolen in Iraq... or the nearly $1 Trillion spent on the military every year...

    B. I'm pretty sure that up until only recently, Hillary was getting a majority of the black vote. Blacks aren't coming out to vote just because Obama is running. Remember now, Obama is half white.

    8. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

who in your humble opinion then is a better option in this election? im not saying i especially like any of them, but it might not be a bad idea to have a young idealist not yet fully corrupted by years in congress... with a capable cabinet and congress behind him the president is more of a P.R. person anyway... and you gotta admit, experience or not, obama is a great speaker and VERY charismatic...

if not obama id go for mccain before i went with hilary... i actually wouldnt be opposed to a split ticket pres/VP this time around since none of them really amaze me... anyone care to speculate who those that are left would choose as their running mate? (i ask only because i really dont know)

I'd like to see Russ Feingold of D-WI get pulled in as a VP running mate. He's a man of impressive credentials and morals and would really boost the legitimacy of any presidential bid. That being sad he seems to be too smart to throw his hat in the arena. I'm not sure that a Wisconsin running mate would help in the overall electoral process but he certainly is a good representative of the people.

    Thanks Tim for posting!

I know some folks don’t like the idea of the band endorsing a candidate for Presidency, but I do because that’s part of who they are and also as a band.

I like to read what their views are and why they are endorsing a candidate, not because I’d follow them, but because they do understand a lot of issues and want to see something done.

I applaud them because at this time, I am really unsure about any one of them. It’s really hard to look past the wrongdoings they have done or things they have not done or “promises” to do this or that.

As a member of linguistic minority and minority group, I am very cautious with what people say they would do. Trust is another issue I have.

One perfect example is recently at Lollapalooza where I got fucked over badly with their “Access for all” with people who claim to know what they are doing while others doing it for their own personal agenda. To make matters worse, they were protecting people who did wrong.

That’s just a very small – and frequently invisible – picture of the whole system gone amuck.

I do not have faith anymore, sorry. But I will continue to listen to different views from people and the day will come where I have to make a difficult decision – the voting day.

Change is what we need, but are we really going to change things? Is Obama really going to do that? Is it all talk? I, for one, know will not vote for McClain because he does not give shit about disabled people – I’d have to pull up a document somewhere where he did not even bother to show up at ANY of the meetings but I have seen this and have spoken with other people who were part of the group who said he simply didn’t show any interest. Just his frigging name on it for public show.

Is everyone going to get health coverage they deserve without being questioned for their previous or current illness or – worse – being denied? Is everyone going to get the resources they need for education? Is everyone going to be guaranteed a job with security?

I could go on and on… but anyway… sorry I got off the track here.

I’m just glad that the members of Pearl Jam feel confident in whom they were endorsing for. I enjoyed reading Eddie Vedder’s view in his last RS interview. I hope he continues to do that, not because he’s some rock star who should shut up and play music, but as an American citizen sharing with the rest of us. His opinions count as much as ours.

For the most part, I feel like he’s talking on my behalf.

Not because I worship him, but because he can relate with us.

And he’s not afraid to share his views and getting bashed for it over and over and over and over….

Ha, I think kids from Bush's "no child left behind act" were actually put on the "bridge to nowhere" and never heard from again. Seriously, didn't anyone see his awful "State of the Union"? He didn't even try to put a good speech together, he had nothing. The No Child Left Behind Act, which was a nice idea, that's basically all he had to show for 7+ years in office. That and crippling debt, a bunch of advisors fired and indicted and a lot of good young Americans dead for virtually no reason. And then he proposes some environmental crap after he wouldn't let the U.S. attend the conference in Japan.

And he had this "aw shucks" attitude. Unbelievable. Not saying the Dems are that much better, but c'mon how can anyone vote Republican again? No thanks, I'll try door #2, since I know door #1 has a fat cow with a machine gun pointed at me behind it.

Actually there's nothing on Paul, I've looked and looked. The info I posted is not slander, it is documented fact.

I don't doubt that he gets some support from your friends. But just to clear up about me.

I'm not paranoid, nor lazy and I vote among many other political activities. Voting is only one small part.

You're right, I just get so riled up. I just wish people would really weigh it more and look more closely. Because it is important. Really important.

It's obvious to me. But it's always been my passion. People are cynical as am I. But there are honest people and orgs out there. Ron Paul is one of them. I wish I could say the same about Barack Obama. I really do. But I know he isn't. Actions speak louder than words. That is the truth I look for and it is easy to see.

Yeah, some want freedom and liberty for the little guy. It's true. Not all of us feel powerless and banged up that the so called political leaders are all powerful. My agenda is freedom for myself, family, friends. I've done a pretty good job at creating some. Thinking it over, I shouldn't even be so riled up about it. I know. I guess it goes along with the whole thing of being a PJ fan and always into the music and message. But then when it doesn't go the way you want it to... Haha. My agenda. I want freedom and the little guy to get a break.

I'd like to apologize to PJ, Ed, Stone, and Matt. I was rough on them. Two of them came out in support of a candidate that I wish they didn't. Big whoop but I spazzed out.

No need for me to call names or demean them. That was stupid. Especially since I love the band and the work they have done. Charity shows, fundraisers, the songs, music, ticketmaster, etc.

And even if I don't agree I'm glad they do talk about politics and don't hide from it like other rock stars. No matter what you do or say, some are going to be alienated and that often leads to people doing and saying nothing... So I don't want to add to that.

I know I shouldn't have flown off the handle on them for supporting their candidate.

    Consider this my public apology.

And PS unlike some of you, I like the song.

But I'm still voting for the first Republican I will have ever voted for on Tuesday.

    RON PAUL.

Peace to all. Have a great weekend.
