Blind Melon - Soup

I'm sure this album has been discussed on here before, but is anyone else a fan of this album? I owned Blind Melon and then bought For my Friends when it came out but this album is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Agreed, not that I don't love the 1st record but Soup takes the cake, so to speak.

Great song, beautiful lyrics.
Like most people have said, shame Shannon isn't still with us. Great voice, great lyricist, wonderfully charismatic guy.
If you can find the 'Live & Interactive' TV performance, you won't be disappointed.

said it before and I'll say it again - the new record is great and the live show is even better. You're missing out if you don't give it a chance. The new record grew on me just like 'soup' did, which took several listens to really get going for me. Huge talent from all members in that band.
Soup is an incredible album
Someone's pouring warm gravy all over me
And you see that synthetic therapy
Don't you know it seems to be so unappealing
But, oh what a feeling"
I was blasting 2X4 right before I sat down and logged in!
Shame to see so much talent wasted by substances.

does anyone have that VHS "letters from a porcupine" or whatever? any good?
Yes, it's very good...haven't watched it in a while though.
The CD for Nico also doubles as a CD-ROM and has some pretty cool extras on it...check it out.

I agree with Reggie500. I have gone to see the new band. In fact went to the very first show they did in Rhode Island 10/07/07. And then twice since then, Feb in Hartford, CT, and then this summer at Newburyport, MA. I have met all but Travis. Chris was so super nice, to me, my husband, and my kids. I met his dad. Rodgers I would if I could speak with for hours. The show is top notch.
I was asked outside of the 1st show by some guy with a video camera asked me what my favorite song is. And at the time I was such an emotional wreck I could not answer him. Everyone who was in attendance was happy and sad the whole night. Just can not explain the feeling at that show, leading up to going inside and then after the show too. But my favorite song is hands down Vernie. Soup to me is their better album. The growth from the 1st album was amazing. All of them were right on. It does make me wonder what if.
I would love for the new Blind Melon to open for Pearl Jam next tour. I think that would be great!
I have this and I have not watched it in a long time. But yes I thought it was good. Along with Nico cd/dvd it's a nice package to have together. Worth a look on ebay or craigslist.
