I would have to go with the Pumpkins cover of You're All I've Got Tonight. I wouldn't say i hate it, but it's roughly a minute shorter than the original and it leaves out a killer guitar solo before the last chorus. I thought it would be great, but it was just dissappointing.
(Thanks for fixing the song title...I screwed up the name w/ the INXS song for some reason...go figure)
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
Ryan Adams "Wonderwall" I'm probably gonna get for this pic, but as a disclaimer, I love Ryan Adams, and just really felt he missed the mark here. I prefer him to Oasis, but I just think the original is better.

Ha ha, I almost punched someone at Reading last year when NIN were playing and someone behind me said 'he's playing that Johnny Cash song'!
poor you.
I got a lovely section of 40 year-old OG fan-since-Pretty Hate Machine dudes, one of whom was actually weeping by the end of the song, head in hands.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
Lol, nice! To be fair, having watched the performance back on youtube a few times, I still think it rates up there as one of the very best versions.
Yeah, it really was amazing. Probably the best single performance I've ever seen in person.

I'm not even familiar with the original. It's simply terrible by my standards.

I actually liked their cover more than the original song. How 'bout that?
