The Crunge on Zeps. Houses of the Holy. wtf? that record would be flawless without that song.

IMHO.

yes, the sng was written during the bends era and it's obvious when you listen to ok computer that the song isn't like the others on the album. I like it though.

Evacuation on Binaural. Now before I get reemed, I will say it is an ok song it just doesn't fit on the album. I think it would have made a better lost dog track.

Really? I always thought Oceans was a great opener but Deep should have been replaced with Brother.

duder, you obviously ain't got no rhythm.

it's a parody/homage to James Brown, but I think they took it seriously. I love this song, invented a dance for it too.
Oh, in case you wondered, it IS Plant that says near the end, "Where's that confounded bridge?".

Oceans is beautiful and fits perfectly.

The song "Mother" from the Police album Synchronicity. Terrible song on a great album.

the song is fine, just dont fit with the feel of the rest of the album.

i'd like to think my rhythm is pretty solid, been playing music since i was 5 lol ;)

  • Highly Supicious on Evil Urges.

I LOVE the band, adore the song and think the album is perfect but Highly Suspicious just isn't like any other song on there!

    I'm not saying that's a bad thing... :)

Great song...just sticks out from the rest of the album.

I like it, but I can see your point. It might have fit better on III.

I don't really like them all, but I think they fit with it being a mostly "Ed" album.

Good call on it being a better Lost Dogs track. It's been said a million times, but how could "Sad" not have made that album?

    Great thread, wolf!

My go to answer for this is always "Starfuckers, Inc." from NIN "The Fragile". It is such an atmospheric, mature album and this song really sticks out as not belonging. The most glaring example of a song not fitting I've ever seen.

  • Betterman on Vitalogy. doesnt fit the album at all. the weird little songs fit it fine.

    uh....you kidding?

did you actually listen to the music of the song...it fucking rocks.

    give it another listen.

I totally agree - he should have saved it for a b-side, I always skip it when it comes on.

Another one I truly hate is A Long December by Counting Crows. I know it's meant to be a crowd favourite and all, but to me it doesn't fit the vibe of the record at all.
  • 'Sypathy For The Devil' and 'Street Fightin Man' on 'Beggars Banquet' - because they are good and the rest of it is crap. Stick those two songs on 'Let It Bleed' and you've got an even better album, whereas they just anchor 'BB' which is otherwise dull.

'A Day In The Life' by the Beatles

Because it pisses on the rest of Sgt. Pepper from such great heights.....It's the only reason I have to ever spin that disc.....

You're right. They should have added it to Vs. I tried to think of a song to switch it with on Vs. and couldn't take a song off. What a record!

Yeah Starfuckers is an ok song, not great, but somewhat fun. It just doesn't go with that album AT ALL! He should have put "Home" or "The New Flesh" on there instead.

I agree with "A Long December" too.

Oh, yeah. It does change the vibe. At least it's buried near the end.

Meat is Murder on Meat is Murder. I guess I felt like a title track should be the organizing principle of an album, and this just doesn't do it.

Star Me Kitten on Automatic for the People. It would fit on some of the post-Hi-Fi REM albums though. Too shimmery, if that's a word.
