The Killers. A little bit of mainstream 80's pop synth is ok. But too much is too much!
Cold War Kids' new album is bad if compared to the first. But all in all it's not such a bad record.
KOL. It's not a bad album but it's not great. The production is shit. KOL is a good band, but I don't really see an evolution in their music.

Im going to have to agree with you on this
i was really looking forward it Weiland Sophmore album, it has some good tracks on the album
but mostly not good lol and im a huge weiland supporter
GNR CD dont even get me started, i love the album. The more i listen to it the more it gets better
Lets face it Chinesse Democracy was never gonna be that good, I realise that blindly buying the vinyl was somewhat foolish but curiosity got the better than me, I have no desire to play it again most likely, esspecially when I bought the back to black 180 gram reissue of Appetite which is awesome and shows what was so special about that record, I did the test back to back with Nevermind and AFD came out on top quite considerably. but for me my biggest disappointment was the new Deus album Vantage Point.
What happened?
Most of it sounded like a different band, I don't mind progression but their debut was inspired, In a Bar Under the Sea genius and Ideal Crash was cracking, yes Pocket Revolution wasn't amazing but it was better than VP.
Here's hoping Tom Barmen discovers his weirdness again, thankfuly Portishead's sublime 3rd was released the same day and that took some of the sting off the let down. when I rave about this band say more people should listen to them and then they offer this half baked effort it makes my raves look ridiculous.
Evil Urges
"Happy" in Galoshes
Viva La Vida
Chinese Democracy
You people are crazy about Dig Out Your Soul. It is probably the best album of the year to me
I'd say you're crazy to say Viva la Vida, and Chinese Democracy were disappointments and Oasis wasn't. Anyone who expected Chinese Democracy to be anything other than an over-the-top cock rock album was delusional and Coldplay finally broke out of their boring, safe, creative rut and tried some new things. I also love Evil Urges, but can understand people being let down.
As to Oasis, I wanted to love it. But there are too many bad songs on it. Get Off Your High Horse lately is the biggest waste of a track Oasis has ever released. Half the rest of the album is mediocre and the rest is pretty good, but far short of the best moments on Don't Believe the Truth. I will say "Dig Out Your Soul' has a better flow and unified sound than DBTT, but on a song by song basis, it's very mediocre. It's a cool psychedelic mood piece and has grown on me a lot (not unlike 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants), but it was still pretty disappointing after they seemed to be roaring back to life on the last album.
I would also add Nas's album as a disappointment this year. It's not a terrible album, but I was hoping for more. There's certainly enough fuel out there for a fierce Nas lyrical masterpiece, and sometimes he got that onto the album, but there was also way to much filler and cheese beats. The album starts off like a poor, wannabe Kanye album, though the second half is much stronger.
Didn't expect so much this year.. I couldn't really get disappointed..
Maybe the Coldplay record, but X&Y already lowered my expectations.. Compared to that one Viva La Vida is a great album, so there's nothing that really disappointed me..

production is awful on this album........don't know what they were thinking.
Because of the times is such an explosive album........Only by the night is just okay. Could have been much better.
