the crowds at MSG were definitely awesome. the lawn at hartford was crazy loud, i remember looking back during jeremy and just taking it in. i was with ana's group, we were in the back of the seated area so we had a great vantage point of the whole experience
if they had the hartford setlist at the 2nd MSG show, i would have needed a cigarette afterwards lol
i'm still pissed at not getting to meet you but glad you caught some great shows chiqui ....:D

i know, me too :( it was so chaotic trying to meet up with folks! i'm sure i'll make it out back east again next tour so we ARE meeting, damnit lol glad you enjoyed this tour as well
Just finished listening to all the 08 boots. Of course I´m partial to the MSG boots cause I was there.
And I actually considered Hartford as well, so you can go and say I´m maybe just a little bit jealous... (:
However, the Hartford boot is not so great in my opinion, anybody else feel the same way?
I think it´s pretty great in terms of setlist, crowd-participation and so on, but all in all the band is not that into it, they seem a bit tired.
It kind of reminds me of the Marseille 06 boot which displayed a cool setlist but was kind of sloppy.
Can´t keep: Never heard a more sloppy version than this one. Everybody in the band seem to have forgotten their parts.
Last exit: The solo is really strange, and the entire song lacks energy.
And a couple of others I can´t remember at the time...
When I listened to the DC show, for instance, I thought it was pretty dynamic and well-played with a great crowd energy, but that one rarely gets any love in here.
Discuss...
I don't like to state the obvious, and of course it's your perogative what you do......but don't you tire of listening to fucking Pearl Jam all the time?
Come on, I love the band, but try listening to something else for a change.
There is far too much over (anal)ysis of this band, it's quite ridiculous. I mean the idea of the bootlegs was surely not for people to listen to them all and find little faults ....doesn't it sound crazy to you when you say..."I have listened to all the bootlegs from the tour" ? It does to me find something else to fill your time I say.
Sorry, but that's just my opinion.
best PJ show I've seen
the boot quality is horrible though
really wish there was a nice crispy audience rec out there
cough cough hint hint tkdtkd@gmail.com
nope, just mine.
sorry

I have seen over 20+ shows including MSG and both Mansfield shows this year. The Hartford show was probably my favorite show I've been to. I have never been stunned befored as the songs were rolled out. Every time a new song would start, I was in disbelief. Sh*t was coming out of left field. I personally think that MSG was overated this year. The Hartford show ruined the two Mansfield shows in my opinion. Heading into the shows, I was expecting to have the Hartford type setlist played at one of the Boston shows. I thought Hartford might actually be a afterthought for the band. I think that is why I was even more stunned. They tore it up. As for the band lacking energy in Hartford, I don't know where anyone could come up with that one. The enegy level was much beter than Mansfield I. Eddie looked to be in a foul mood that night.

I see your point. It´s probably just more a habit than a hobby I guess (:
However, I listen to a hell of a lot of PJ boots, but I also listen to a lot of other stuff, I have a job, I write songs and play in a band. So I don´t listen to PJ all the time. But a lot, yes (:

i was at both of those and i dont see how you couldve liked mansfield 2 more hartford was awesomee
I haven't missed a show in the Massachusetts and Hartford area in the last 10 years. Not to mention shows I have traveled to.
I had heard all of the songs they played at Hartford 08 besides All Night. Can't Keep and Big Wave were the only songs I hadn't heard multiple times.
Mansfield 2 08 they played Education, Satan's Bed and Who You Are that I had not heard. Glorified, Wash, Bee Girl and 1/2 full were songs that I heard for the 2nd time.
I enjoyed both shows a lot, but for me I enjoyed Mansfield 2 much more. Far more rare songs.
can't speak for the boot quality of any of the '08 shows as i haven't even managed to find the time to sit down and listen to them; however, you can NOT judge a show based on a boot, just to emphasize the point made above.
you had to be at Hartford '08 to fully appreciate the experience,...it was obvious right from the opening notes the band intended to make up for the chilly evening that was Hartford '06. the band was indeed firing on ALL cylinders, and just having a GREAT time.
perhaps that's why the band members' wives never made the trip out to Hartford (as had been reported),...the boys wanted a "night off" to just let it all hang out
p.s. i'll bet those that were delayed in the 10C pick-up line are gonna have some negative things to say about the evening
agree, and agree.
nothing sounded sloppy that night. and they were on a mission that night. i was delayed in the line as well and as soon as we got inside and God's Dice was the song, it was the best night in some time.
i don't know about the comment earlier that said people are saying it's the best show of all time....sarcasm? but it was way better than both Gorge shows i attended in '06
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
I never thought someone could like mans 2 more, Those shows were a let down for me, the crowd was so out of it, more concerned with beer than the band.
The energy from the band and the crowd at Hartford was unreal.
Yes Mans 2 got education, but half my section (I'm not exaggerating here) got up for a beer run during it.
Yes you shouldn't let other people affect your experience but some nights its hard not to.
the setlist was incredible but it just doesnt sound like a great atmosphere...and although the setlists for the MSG shows weren't great you can still feel the energy in that building (even tho these boots dont capture the crowd)
