I wish he'd make a trek down here but I didn't expect him to. With only 9 US dates listed there I'm not surprised.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

come on, you know that has nothing to do with it. I think it's because the bigger cities are more spread out in the south, which causes the band to spend more money touring, or Neil just doesn't like us anymore....

Neil seems like one of the few that makes an effort to stop in Detroit every time he tours. Which I enjoy.

I know I'm just messing. I do however think a small part of that has to do with PJ not tourning much down there since 03' (but not saying it's the sole reason).

pretty cool lots east coast dates.. thinking the same reason pj don't tour the south much is the same for NY.

Don't think this will be a solo tour. My guess it's the same band he's been with over in Europe. Ben Keith, Chad Cromwell, and Rick Rosas. Setlists have looked pretty good, except he's trotting out Mother Earth again. A few suprises have turned up as one off's too (Time Fades Away(!), For the Turnstiles, Wrecking Ball).
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

No comparison ... I saw them both this year and Neil Young is far away from being a miserable old bastard. He just blow me away during the first concert that I decided to go and see him a second time (it was friday last week).

Here you go from last week

And a Beatles cover he often does to finish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIDqnafPQ30. Watch it 'til the end and tell me he is a miserable old bastard
  • He is touring with the same band that he did last year and Europe. If anybody can help with a ride from ann arbor to the Palace Id be happy to contribute gas $. Please pm if possible as mass transit in MI is pretty crappy.

It's true...touring the south is just not as profitable for whatever reasons. Many bands skimp on the south lately. Pearl Jam did, Tool did, etc.

    Follow the money, folks.

he doesnt hate the south... just the people who live there.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

well, I mean he did kind of lay it out there in "Southern Man"
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

His last two experiences in Atlanta were pretty bad.

On the greendale tour he had to stop in the middle of Bandit due to the crowd yelling at him to play his old songs. He was clearly irate about this.

then on the CSNY Freedom tour i heard things went pretty bad with some of his anti bush comments. I think it is actually detailed on the new Documentary but i have not had a chance to see it yet.

Either way it sucks seeing Neil and Wilco woudl be great.

I don't think you meant this to be offensive but these comments get old.

I live in the south and i do so because i make my living here. not everyone is like the ignorant folks that get portrayed in this area. Particularly in Atlanta you find many folks who did not support bush, have traveled to various parts of the world and are open minded etc etc

It is frustrating if a band or artist actually does not play a part of the country because they assume everyone is the same as a generalzation.
