    Master of Puppets - Metallica
    Nova - Down
Toxicity - System of a Down
I'll Ride The Wave Where It Takes Me

Pantera has to be on here. I have nevered really considered Zepplin to be heavy metal.

Jeez, how did I know this douche would pipe in with yet another post full of senseless drivel.. I would actually call that a pretty funny, slightly sarcastic post, if YOU weren't the one behind the keyboard on it...

Anyway, top five metal albums? Too many to narrow it down, so I'll go with the first five off the top of my head (if I were hypothetically stranded on a desert island and could only take these five with me), in no particular order...

Slayer (of course)- Reign in Blood
Metallica- Ride the Lightning (couldn't live without a little Creeping Death every day)
Killswitch Engage- The End of Heartache (best "newer" metal band out there IMO)
Tool- Aenima (maybe not really metal, but I'll take it anyway)
Megadeth- So Far, So Good, So What (still my fave Megadeth of all time, although you can't go wrong with Rust in Peace or Peace Sells)

    11.05.93- Indio, CA
    07.13.98- Inglewood, CA
    10.28.00- San Bernardino, CA
    06.02.03- Irvine, CA
    07.23.06- The Gorge

Just to get some balance from the "I hate heavy metal" thread...

Whats your top 5 heavy metal albums of all time ?

    Mine would be :

Number of The beast ~ Iron Maiden (An all time classic in my opinion.)
Heaven and Hell ~ Black sabbath (With Ronnie James Dio on vocals.)
    Metallica ~ The Black Album.
Back in Black ~ AC/DC (Not true heavy metal but just as tough.)
    Led Zeppelin ~ Remasters.

Not the heaviest of the heavy metal, but these are the ones I rate highly.
does remasters count as its a compilation? anyway i would enjoy all of them!
    here is mine
    TOOL- LATERALUS
    CORROSION OF CONFORMITY-WISEBLOOD
    METALLICA-MASTER OF PUPPETS
    DOWN-NOLA
    SYSTEM OF A DOWN-TOXICITY

i still enjoy my metal...i will go with only one from the following.

    1. powerslave
    2. master of puppets
    3. lateralus
    4. peace sells but who's buying
    5. operation mindcrime
I think it's mindblowingly brilliant, but Lateralus isn't really a metal album. Tool's pretty much in their own genre.

I can't believe the lack of Judas Priest here. Think I saw them once..
Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..
