Yeah, a bit late but it didn´t arrive here in Denmark until friday.

WHAT a good movie. Of course I expected it to be somewhat good because of what Ed has done to it, but man, that movie really stroke a chord deep inside me. Good job Sean Penn.
And good to hear "No ceiling" full length!!

I'm totally biased. Krakauer is my all-time favorite author. I *HIGHLY* recommend Under the Banner of Heaven.

Under the Banner of Heaven is my favoritest book. It's about Fundamentalist Mormons (polygamists) and how religion drove them to commit murder. He goes into alot of detail about the mainstream and Fundamentalist Mormon churches and how jacked up they are.

Into Thin Air is about his climb to the top of Mount Everest. He was doing it as a research topic (I think) for Outside Magazine (like ItW) and it ended up being the deadliest trip/day ever in Everest's history. This was the first book of his I read...I could honestly care less about mountain climbing, but I was home sick and my roommate had it. I picked it up and finished it either that day or the next.

Krakauer could probably talk about clipping his nails and it would be interesting. Again, I'm totally biased.

I second AmentsChick's suggestion, one of the most interesting books i have ever read.
Take time to see the sky,
    Find shapes in the clouds.
Hear the murmur of the wind
    and touch the cool water.
    Walk softly,
    we are intruders,
    tolerated briefly
    In an infinite universe.

well we had to get a sheet signed by our parents allowing us to read it cause of the whole mormon thing and it could offend some people. my english teacher is a douche but atleast he likes PJ.

Because of that book, I've become slightly obsessed with the topic. I've read any and every book I can find on polygamy, Colorado City, Fundamentalist Mormons, hell, even bought this movie on Amazon (and, for the record, Krakauer's in it.)

Why is he a douche? That seems acceptable?? I mean, it deals with incest, murder, polygamy...subjects not too common in high school English classes.

Writing is good for you- but I prefer to teach the 4 paragraph method. You'd be surprised, or maybe not surprised, on how many kids these days do not know how to write. How sad. Damn texting! :)
