Ironically my two favorite albums came out very recently, "Accerlerate" by R.E.M. and "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" by Counting Crows.
Both of those albums are amazing, and will probably make my top 10 list at the end of the year.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
Counting Crows, 'Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings'
Elbow, 'The Seldom Seen Kid'
Wintersleep, 'Welcome to the Night Sky' (not released in UK yet)
REM, 'Accelerate' deserves an honourable mention. Great album but not as memorable as the above, imo.
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'
Crowes 'Warpaint'
Black Mountain 'In the future'
North Mississippi Allstars 'Hernando'
I'm thinking 'Accelerate' will be there too once I listen to it more...to early
Haven't heard the Counting Crows new one yet, but I am hopeful it will be
Maybe the Black Keys...haven't got it yet either
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
