Nirvana-Nevermind
Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream
Nickelback-Curb (honestly, although very derivative of early grunge, this album rocked and was long before they repeated the same song over and over)0 -

Sorry, this is directed to no one in particular.
Actually, I'd say that the best albums of the 90s did come out of the "grunge scene". Best of all the music I've heard, but I am a rock fan.
Soundgarden - BMF
Soundgarden - SUK
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Those are the ones, other than PJ.
Hon mentions would be: Temple of the Dog, Toadies, RH - bends or OKcomputer, Smashing Pumkins - Infinite Sadness, STP - Tiny Music, some others that are escaping me.bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0 -

It's like asking what someone's 3 favorite foods are and getting a reply of "barbecued shrimp, shrimp kebab, and shrimp creole." All different and wonderful in their own way, but have you have ever tried chicken? Know what I mean Gene?
maybe they did try chicken but no matter how you cook it it doesnt compare to shrimp.
i think i only listed one band that would be considered grunge though most of my favorite albums from the era are grunge. id say a top 10 would be 6-8 grunge albums for me. and i listen to alot of 90's stuff that isnt grunge though. the 90's were such a great period for rock music.
only 3 albums leaves alot of great stuff out.0 -

I hate the term 'grunge' and this is exactly why. People automatically close their minds to otherwise great albums because of an assumed stereotype. Within the 'grunge' scene you have bands producing punk, metal, pychadelia, prog rock. Its one of the most diverse music scenes I could think of and it doesn't deserve this lame tag.
Besides its an MTV term, and at the end of the day its all just rock 'n' roll0 -
