I saw him in the fall. Good show, I found it a little...boring? I'm not quite sure what I could make out if it. It was mesmerizing and amazing to see a true legend - one of the greatest figures in rock & roll history - alive and playing. The thought of knowing that you are watching the man himself (literally) play live...is quite amazing.

Musically, eh, I found it lacking a little. The band was tight - his voice wasn't intolerable, or even really that bad (it was horrible to begin with...anyone listening to his music for the vocals all these years is out of their mind). I guess I was expecting more of his classic stuff - he played a lot of his newer songs, stuff that I'm not fimiliar with - one reason I found it lacking, I guess.

If you haven't gone to see him - go. Definitely. It's worth it. If you like it, go back again. I might. But I don't regret a cent that I payed for going to see Bob Fuckin' Dylan.

Since I've seen him live, I guess I have to say that I would go see him in concert. I saw him a couple of years ago at a music festival in Charlotte, NC. He was heads and shoulders better than any other band I saw at that festival and I only wish he could have played longer. Damn those 1 hour time limits for those types of shows.... If I ever have the chance, I would definitely go see him in concert for a full show.

I remember when I saw him back in '02, the guy next to me turned to me and said 'I wish he would play...' (don't remember the name of the song). I had to point out to the guy that he played it two songs before, the arrangement was that different.

I actually started laughing one night last Spring when I heard one of the songs because I knew the words so well and I realized most people wouldn't even recognize it as the same song!

i couldn't DISagree more......say what you want about his voice, but it suits his songs.....when others sing his songs, no matter how good their voice, it sounds like karaoke...they just don't hit the words the right way, no emotion, too much emotion, etc....except eddie vedder, of course

perhaps for a purist and I can see that for the studio stuff

Live, BD has made my ears bleed.

Garcia was my favorite singer of Dylan songs. He gave the words something special.

I have seen him and I would see him again, whether a full show or only a 15 minutes Live Aid 85 3 songs and off performance. A great catalog to choose from and a distinctive style makes for a great evening.

  • Saw him last year in Perth and loved the concert. However many of the crowd hated it as they just seem to have gone along to hear the "classics". Those that he did do he twisted around so you often weren't sure what song it was until the chorus.

Would go and see him tomorrow, but if all you want to hear is Blowin' in the Wind in its original form I would recommend buying a Best Of album. If you are going dust up on the last 3 albums before you go.
Now I'm livin' out here on the beach,
but those seagulls are still out of reach.

Saw him a couple of years ago in a real small club. Maybe 200 people. It was great. I was thisclose to the stage, that in itself was worth the price of admission. He even cracked a joke! The show was good, great band behind him. He does such different arrangements, even tour to tour, the songs never sound the same.

Seeing Bob Dylan is like getting the chance to see Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, BB King, The Stones, may not be your cup of tea, but....you almost have to.
