Gee I dunno, he threw Pearl Jam under the bus, threw the fans under the bus for booing him, threw the stage crew under the bus calling them incompetent, all this after he whined and bitched about his set time and got moved to the biggest stage at a later time. Then when he pranced his ass out on the stage, he offered no sort of apology and played for just an hour. Not to mention, the next day, several artists, including Robert Randolph's Revival, called him out......I think it speaks a lot about a person that their ego must be that big that fellow colleagues in the music world say things about you, at the very festival that you are still at.
I agree 100%
Brian Posehn called him out too in the comedy tent- it was great!

Kayne is a joke
I'd rather have someone vomit in my ear than have to listen to Kayne West's god awful version of music.
You don't need a crystal ball to see that In the future, Kanye West's albums will sit along side the likes of MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Paula Abdul, and New Kids on The Block in bargin bins, garage sales, and Goodwill stores everywhere.
Another tragic and unfortunate mis-use of plastic and energy.

You are either too biased or too fucking stupid if you think that Kanyes music sucks. You may not like his antics, but he has more talent in his middle finger (That is in the air pointing towards people like you) than 95% of the bands/singers that are posted on this 'other band' forum.
Average to poor producer, in terms of hip-hop, great R&B producer, AWFUL rapper.
That's about it.

you don't like music do you? to say Kanye makes "god awful music" is one of the most ignorant things i have ever heard...and maybe you do need a crystal ball because his albums will be looked at as defining pieces of music in this era.
SERIOUSLY DUDE WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? please tell me what songs are garbage i would like to hear and please tell me you have heard more than Stronger...

are you kidding me? average to poor? have you heard Takeover? Encore? Champion? Flashing Lights? We Major? H To The Izzo? Get By? Guerrila Monsoon Rap? This Can't Be Life? The Truth? Heart of the City? Never Change?
I could go on and on he is not an average producer

No I'm not kidding and yes I have heard them.
How Kanye is a household name and producers like DJ Premier and Pete Rock who have been at the forefront of the genre for 20 years and have made beats for EVERYONE are still languishing in relative obscurity is beyond me. Kanye's production technique basically extends no further than looping a few seconds from a classic soul, funk or hip-hop song and dropping a random drum beat on it. He's not an artist, he's an entertainer.
He used to be fairly promising, the Blueprint work in particular, although H to the Izzo is a good tune thanks entirely to the original Jackson Five tune. Kanye did nothing apart from looping a few seconds of it. These days he seems content to literally drop terrible rhymes over a barely changed Daft Punk tune and call it "sampling". It's lazy and shoddy work. Sorry, that's my opinion. Where's the innovation? Where's the kind of revolutionary filtering techniques that Large Professor and Premo ushered in? Where's the vast variety of source materials and obscure motifs that make this kind of music so interesting? Kanye is by no means a bad producer, he's just nothing special. His popularity is based on his skill at taking other people's tunes wholesale, rather than making his own. Fair play to him as a moneymaker, I'm just not going to give him props for artistic ability.

I'd be willing to bet everyone here bashing kanye west liked him before Bonnaroo...even though that incident was not his fault, but PJ's but apparently people here can't realize that.

I've never even heard about this Bonnaroo incident so I'm pretty sure you'd stand to lose some cash on that bet

If Kanye was going to perform after one of my shows, I would have gone on for an extra 2 hours!!
This is amazing! I know that if Pearl Jam was performing after Kanye West, and he went over you guys would be so pissed.. and don't try to say that Pearl Jam deserves the stage more because these days.. Kanye is more relevent to more people and Kanyes last albums was miles better than Pj's last..
Let the bashing and 'you suck at music' comments begin!

Were you at Bonnaroo?
And if PJ played after Kanye, they'd been on stage no more than 1 hour after Kanye left and they would have still played 3 hours...they don't need a dumbass light show and a god-awful stage act to play music...wait, Kanye doesn't even play music.
You see, I have never gotten this kind of comment. What does he play if its not music? Saying that Kanye sucks and is not talented is fucking stupid. Kanye West is the real deal and he might be the one who gets mainstream rap back to the way it should be. Now go on, shoo, and listen your 90's rock.
EDIT: If most Pearl Jam fans weren't asshats, I truly believe more people would love this great great band.

I saw him on stage and he never even picked up an instrument...that's what I'm talking about when I say he doesn't play music.
You didn't answer...were you at Bonnaroo? I was...I waited for Kanye and instead of being blown away (as I thought I might), I was bored and wished I had just gone to bed.

Kanye is definetely as relevant today as Pearl Jam, and he did deserve the stage... just too bad he didn't show he deserved it... I like Kanye West but I lost a lot of respect for him after hearing about what happened at Bonnaroo... That is not gonna stop me from liking his albums however, I would just never go see him live. And as far as saying Kanye's albums were miles better than PJ's last... well... no.
