Any 311 fans out there?

I saw them in concert for the first time this year in Saratoga Springs and they were amazing.

You got to come original...

    yea they are amazing in concert, i saw them last december in pittsburgh....i absolutely love 311, def. one of my favorite bands. i just hope this hiatus they're on does not last very long.

    Completely agree with everything. I would like to see them about a hundred more times!

    Saw them like in 94, they were good...Roots opened up for them.
    Tons of moshing...ahhh the good ol'days:)

    I liked their first 3 albums, but never got into the newer stuff. I've seen them twice, once at a tiny club show which was amazing, and once at an amphitheater. The second show was good, but didn't have as much energy as the club gig.

    I have never heard of them to be honest, but I doubt that they made a song as good as 577.

    I used to love them, saw them 3 times back in 94/95, but I kinda lost track of them after Transistor. I still dig the early albums.

    Well I tried to look them up on a big Dutch music site and it wasn't on it, so I don't think they are that big.

    they are not as big as pearl jam or the chili peppers or those bands, but they are well-known, they have their own website at http://www.311.com....and i bet you can name many band that i've never heard of, congrats

    What are your favorite 311 albums?

    My favorite is the self-titled album 311 (otherwise known as The Blue Album), with Soundsystem being a close second.

    I doubt it, they took a pretty good sized break between the Blue album and Transistor. But you gotta remember they tour like crazy!! that's how they get their name out there! the radio rarely, if ever, plays their songs, i guess more recently they've been making some "radio friendly" singles, but their live shows are where it's at! i never miss one, i've been to at least 2 311 shows every tour since the Blue album. :D Damn!! i love this band!! :)

    Yeah, they have gained their loyal fans love by touring. Their last real touring break was back in 1998, when they only played about a dozen shows. Before then and since, they have been non-stop.

    They do tour like crazy, but they aren't exactly young like they once were. They're in their mid-late 30's now. Not that that is old.

    I hope they dont take a break. But if they do, I completely understand.

    Purely raggae they are not. They mix different styles and fuckin jam.

    i don't know what you're talking about with snow's "informer" being the jam. that song sucked.....but anyway i agree with you on everything else. i'm glad someone else realizes that 311 sucks. and people who are saying they don't do reggae......you're right they're not strictly a reggae band, but they definatly have a bit of a reggae influence, and it sucks. i'm sure you are the same people that think sublime is one of the greatest bands ever. another overrated shitty bar band with heavy reggae influence.
