The only one I've read about is a My Bloody Valentine reunion.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
  • Yep My Bloody Valentine rumored, and I believe The Breeders are confirmed.

I'd bet on Radiohead as well.

i believe january 21st is the day that they make the line-up announcement.

    That could be pretty cool.
Although if their set goes over the hour mark, i may fall asleep.

    I'll be honest.
I'm not sure i see the MBV sound translating real well over an open stage to a festival audience.

That kind've noise is best suited to a small club, imho.

(honestly, i don't think ANYthing sounds good in an open air venue, but MBV certainly would not)
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

I think that if there were a solid set of bands, I may fly out for the weekend.

    Dwight Yoakam is there too.

    Seriously.

Actually I'd like to see Dwight. Went for one day last year, I'd like to go again this year depending on the lineup/day.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

When perusing the Coachella message board, The three that have really caught my eye so far are The Breeders, Death Cab For Cutie , and Cold War Kids. I'd be happy to see Dwight Yoakam also.

I've already got my hotel booked, did that in September. Seriously.

This will be my 6th Coachella (even flew out from Boston in 03 & 04) ... lineup is always varying degrees of great ... 2004 being absolutely mind blowing great.

The best thing about this festival is all the new bands I have discovered over the years ... they book top notch as well as suprisingly fantastic young unknown talent ... they are WAY ahead of the curve.

Death Cab is great live, let's hope they don't draw the 3 pm aftenroon slot on the outdoor stage again, 115 degree heat was a bit brutal on them.

MBV ... REALLY looking forward to that if it's indeed happening.

Also think Autolux has said yes ... seeing them here in SF the end of the month, great band.

If you're ever on the Coachella boards, I'm pewter14 over there ... haven't posted much recently, but that will change soon.

oh ... and let's hope for the shock of shocks ... PJ makes a triumphant return to the polo fields ...

I'm heading out for my 2nd year in a row, just got my plane tix actually and we booked a house too. I had wanted to go for a long time and last year I finally pulled the trigger.....thank god because it was the greatest music experience I've ever had, totally blew any other festival that I've been to out of the water.

I'm looking forward to the lineup announcement, but regardless of who's there, it's going to be a GREAT time....such a fun show, and as Jimed says, one of the best part is discovering new bands.

Now if PJ was announced, I'd be ecstatic!

The coachella message board is a good place to start for rumors. These blogs however are keeping track of all the "confirmations" and rumors:

Are there any rumors of Pearl Jam playing coachella? What are their plans for April?

This supposedly came from a link that was removed on the LA Times website.

If you can wait a little while they're finishing up writing/recording their new album. And sometime after coachella they'll be doing a full headlining tour. That way you don't pay so much just for 30 minutes. Unless the other bands that are announced make it worth it for you though. But this will be a big year for Dredg.
