I'm surprised they are ending the tour in Hollywood. I'll go if I'm around.

I went last year and although it was a good show you really need good seats to enjoy a show at HB.

You are officially the biggest thread troll we have on this board. In a thread devoted to the tour dates you have to throw in your two cents about something not even related to the topic. If you dislike DMB, Lifehouse, whoever else so much, why not start your own topic so people can go in and agree with you.

Is it just me or does this band play the exact same venues in pretty much the same tour sequence every summer year after year after year?

I've seen them a handful of times (all between '96-'99) and, to me, that was the peak of their appeal. Since then, it looks like they roll out the same itinerary every year.

Seems formulaic, that's all. If I were them I'd want a little variety in my touring experience.

    Kissimmee 2004
    New York City (x 2) 2008

Well I can't speak for the rest of the country, but since 2002 I've seen them at

    Dodger Stadium
    Staples Center
    Home Depot Center
    Irvine Meadows
    Hollywood Bowl
I'm not sure what you are saying. Where else should they play? And remember sometimes it's the only venue they could book for the times they want to play in a city.

They like outdoor amphitheaters/venues, so I suspect that's part of it as those kind of places are pretty limited compared to arenas/stadiums and such. And places like Alpine, Gorge, and Red Rocks (which is not on this list this time around) are very popular show destinations, so they're meeting that demand, too.

Another part of it is that they are very popular here and virtually nowhere else. They rarely play outside NA, so yeah, seeing that they tour almost every summer and winter, there's going to be a lot of overlaps.
  • Why do bands always have to start selling tickets for their summer tours when i have the least amount of money? Ughhhh.

  • Normally they play the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh for two nights, but not this year. I wonder why.

Dave's wife is having a baby in July I believe so that's why the tour is starting later therefore some of the normal venues/cities may not be available at the proper time.

No Toronto dates and the Detroit date is the day before I am heading to Chicago for a girls weekend. Looks like I am going to skip this tour. Maybe we will still see Toronto added.

I swear, it's a conspiracy by the music industry to bankrupt me. I lent my daughter money for two Bonnaroo tix, and no sooner did she pay me back than she wanted to borrow money for Rock the Bells. So I bought those, the next day I get an email about the presale for Ben Harper shows. The next day (today), I get the email about the DMB shows.

If PJ announces any U.S. dates, I predict it will be soon, while I have no money.

Tell me about it. I've already seen DMB last weekend in Vegas. I've got tix to 2 of the 3 Police shows and now 4 DMB shows at the end of summer. And I'm still convinced PJ will play a show or 2 near me. I should get off this board and get to work. ;):)

As for missed cities, on the Warehouse board they are expecting/hoping for a winter tour.

The White Stripes will be touring and that's a must-see for me, so they'll announce soon, and THEN the PJ dates will go up.

The only thing I don't like about DMB is that I have to go to Blossom to see them. God, how I hate that place. People go to concerts ... people live in cities ... so why in the hell do they build amphitheaters out in the middle of cornfields and cow pastures where there's only one 2-lane road leading in and out of the place? If cows went to concerts, it might make sense.

WTF! I know I hate it when people bitch, but only one night in Pittsburgh is just plain stupid. We fill up every year for them. Damnit. And SPAC too..I think those two should have 2 nighters.

Oh well, I'll go there and the Cleveland show.
    Pittsburgh 6/23/06

oh and another thing....if you really think i just make post bashing peoples bands and disagreeing with them than you probably just have an extremely bad taste in music, or the opposite of mine for that matter. Because i have made a lot of positive posts on different threads, you're probably just seeing the negative ones because you are probably into the shitty bands that i bash like lifehouse and dmb. and yes i do enjoy checking those threads out and telling fans of these bands how shitty their music is.........whats your point
