did you really need to quote that entire list?...

all I did was cut and paste, who gives a shit if I posted all of them? Someone would have bitched if I missed someone, people are bitching because I listed a bunch. All we do is bitch on this site sometimes.

I wanted to show the amount of people not in, the amount of good not as good bands, the bands PJ will be running against. It was long so we would see it and go holy shit that is a lot of bands.

instead I get: did you have to post the whole list
some of those groups are not even 25 years yet

    sometimes.......

I wasn't talking about you you curr, I was talking about the guy who quoted that entire list in response, thus taking an annoying amount of space up for no reason.

You can tell because I quoted him and also my post had absolutely nothing to do with you...

I expect that whole genre of rock to be totally ignored in favor of hip-hop, disco and rap.

  • The Pixies better fucking get in too or I'm storming the place.

i agree, they are absolutely huge in terms of influence, but not in popularity. we'll see how the hall does in future selections. i fear that the r&r HOF is going to lose all purpose and credibility.

Yes, foreign bands can be inducted.....The Beatles, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin are just a few of the bands in the hall not from the U.S.

BTW, King Crimson started as a British band. It's current line-up is a hodge-podge of nationalities.

Fucking tragic. Rush, Yes and King Crimson especially deserve to be on their. I don't get how rap/hip-hop is more Rock n' Roll than prog rock? Fuck, I mean, Rush??? They have all the elements! Talent, fame, popularity, sales. I guess they're too good maybe?

In that case lets add Radiohead to the "they better make it in" category.

My thoughts exactly......I can hear some people saying that they don't appeal to a wide range of people....so what, hip-hop, rap and Motown holds no appeal to me.

I can live with motown I guess, some of those oldies are not bad, and certainly had a pretty large influence on rock n' roll, and for that, its ok with me if its in the hall of fame. But rap? Come on! At least not before prog rock.

lots of great rap artists out there.. very few in the peripheral vision of mainstream though.

    The Roots
    Jurrassic 5
    Dead Prez...

Grand Master Flash got in because he was good and had a PROFOUND influence on music. He's the Beatles of rap music.. or maybe even more.. he can be credited for essentially starting the genre.

So he can go in the rap n' roll hall of fame. But I want to see Rush in the Rock n' Roll hall of fame.
